We can now confirm that a DVD of restored and colorized THREE STOOGES shorts is in the works. The DVD will contain the following four shorts: "Disorder in the Court", "Brideless Groom", "Sing a Song of Six Pants" and "Malice in the Palace". What makes this DVD notable is that the shorts will be introduced by The Film Crew--aka Mike Nelson (Moe), Kevin Murphy (Larry) and Bill Corbett (Curly). No release date has been announced.

With all of the crappy Hollywood remakes you think the boys from MST3K would be against something like this, I'm getting a feeling that they're going to start to go into the Joel for Jimmy Kimmel, Trace for AFHV or Frank for Sabrina. Not saying they don't have intergirty but I didn't ALWAYS enjoy those things as I did with MST3K.
We'll see.

I think good news except for the colorized part.

B) It's still commentaries, just like MST. What makes this DVD notable is that the shorts will be introduced by The Film Crew--aka Mike Nelson (Moe), Kevin Murphy (Larry) and Bill Corbett (Curly). They are going to be doing some sort of mini remake at least, I'm opotimistic since these guys are the most anti-Hollywood guys out of the major MST3K crew (no offense to Mary Jo Pehl and Paul Chaplin)

But aren't the stooges release just going to be introductions & not commentaries? I'm sure they would still do a good job with it but, we might not get to see/hear enough of them.

Bah humbug. These four shorts have been released on numerous DVD sets. Couldn’t they release any different ones? They must be the only Stooges shorts that are PD. Also, one of the reasons that I like the 3 Stooges so much is for their nostalgia factor. That’s ruined as soon as they’re colorized. Give me the old black and white and grainy please.

Barry Sandrew said there will be a commentary. Cool. If there's commentary, I'll get it.

I wish you can view the B/W with commentary. What I’m wondering is how are they going to put a commentary on the stooges? “Well, he just got a pie in the face. . . umm. . there’s another classic eye gouge. . “ The 3 Stooges are already funny (if your in that camp) by them selves so I’m really curious as to what Mike and co. will bring to the fray. Maybe they will do a more traditional commentary? I’ll buy Night of the Living and Carnival of lost souls (which I already own) for the Mike Nelson commentary alone, but unless there’s something exceptionally extraordinary about this that I haven’t heard about yet, I think I’m going to pass on this stooges offering.

Guys, they're not doing commentary. If you go to the website it says their introducing the shows, not watching them.

From Legend Films.com:
"Also included are introductions to the shorts by “The Film Crew” including Mike Nelson of Mystery Science Theater 3000. (80 Minutes)"

Maybe there will be commentary, just not from Mike and company? Reefer had an another audio track from the guys at Legend, right. Could that be what Barry is talking about? Because I would think having Mike, Bill and Kevin doing it would be a major selling point and would have made it on the press release.
Personally, I'd rather be forced to swallow a bucket of pig vomit than watch the Stooges... so I'll wait and see.
