In all honesty, slapstick never made me laugh much. Those Pink Panther movies barely made me crack a smile, The Three Stooges have me changing the channel before it even comes on, and a lot of the dumb comedy movies of late make me want to cry (My Bosses Daugher, There's Something About Mary, Meet the Parents, etc. all used a lot of slapstick to deliver the humor).
However, Jackass cracks me up for some reason, but that's mainly because of the absudity of the antics (i.e. having that midget-guy dress up as a munchkin, and skateboard down the street with that fat dude chasing him). Absurdity is typically funny for me (witness Kung Pow!, Hot Shots, or Naked Gun).
Again, MightyJack has hit the nail on the head. Comedy is subjective.

I find "Jackass" mean spirited and demeaning. I hate that kind of thing. Howard Stern, the Man Show. The objectification of women, using a drunk or a retarted person as a punchline. Simply diminishes, no- wipes out the humanity of a person completely.
A midget as a munchkin... eh, that whole style of humor sickens me to my core.

Damn right....to you. I like the show but I like Viva La Bam more (even though it's on extreme whoring MTV to the X dude!). It's silly slap stick and funny to me but not Those Three Stooges, stooges. I hit you. You fall down...well I guess it's essentially the same but I just don't laugh at the 3 stooges.

but I just don't laugh at the 3 stooges. But I have it on good authority that they are currently laughing at you.

A lot of my morals and tastes have changed over the past couple years, and Jackass was one of the shows that I USED to watch. I haven't watched it since the movie version came out (which was before I became a conservative, and a Christian), and therefore I may no longer really like it.
LOL it's funny how I just "became" those, but hey, epiphanies do happen.

Forrest, when I said "Punchline" I didn't mean it within the context of telling a joke but rather of using people as objects to be made fun of (Like Stern and his (mis)treatment of those "misfits" of society).
I just don't like it. Practical jokes, stuff like "Punked" etc. My wife has the alarm set to the radio and when those morning DJs do their prank calls I have to roll over and shut it off. I can't take listening to that because it makes me feel bad, physically. In the pit of my stomach I start feeling rotten and turn it off.
I know, I'm a nerd.

I know what you mean about those pranks. I get this feeling of guilt...I feel so bad for the recievers of the "joke". That's how I feel about many of those slapstick comedy movies of the present (Meet The Parents put me on a 90-minute guilt trip), and such.
What do you think of the Jerky Boys?

I stayed away from them so I can't comment. Crank Yankers too. They might even be funny, but I know my limits and they'd just make me feel lousy.
And it is actually a physical discomfort. Not just an opinion about what's funny.
