Joe Bob Briggs, of Monstervision fame, has apparently signed a deal with this fledgling network (There's a perfunctory blurb at joebobbriggs.com). Using my great deductive powers, I'm guessing The Scream Channel plans on showing several cheesy horror flics. More importantly, I think this could be an opportunity to resuscitate MST3K.
Does anybody know anything about this new network? According to Mr. Joe Bob, they're supposed to hit the airwaves in January 2005. Unlike Sci-Fi, CC or even AMC, The Scream Channel may well listen to programming ideas from potential fans. A new network is often more eager to: A. fill programming time; B. establish a brand name and C. take a chance on reviving a cult-classic. Plus, it makes sense economically since they'll be buying the rights for bad movies anyway. Why not riff on them while they're at it?

Isn't this a cannadian station?
I think my friend was talking about it because they show Twin Peaks every day.

Yeah I have heard of some channel called Scream, I think it is Canadian.
Here in America, The Horror Channel begins in October 2004, another possible location for MST3K, although they were unable to come to an agreement with Joe Bob.

This is good news. Surely they would pick up MST3k.
Maybe we could get one of those things going... like a document with the supporters' names on it... shows our support for the idea... a petition! Thats it!

Is this Scream channel the new Horror channel I'vew been hearing about?
If so then YES! Since I first heard about this channel, I was hoping they'd sign Joe Bob on for something (hopefully the rebirth of Monstervision).

The Horror Channel began broadcasting in the UK a few months ago. It's already had to increase its transmission times to keep up with viewer demand. The schedules have thrown up plenty of familiar movies, all in their original un-MSTied form. Will be interesting to see how the US version compares.

It's weird to me that it's taken so long for a horror channel to come about, when every other video store catagory has it's own basic cable channel: Comedy, Sci-fi, Family, Disney, Employee Picks (which is an awesome channel when Frank is programming it)
