Xena has a considerable following. Must be because of the great scripts. Yeah, right but not even close to the total following MST has garnered. I think.

Tv Guide is bad at ranking and choosing cult shows. Family Guy? Even though many of you disagree, Family Guy is no longer a cult show when everybody in a suburban middle school watches it.

Simpsons and Family Guy cult shows? Anything on FOX shouldn't be a cult show, the loud advertising hammers it into you that you won't forget.

a semi-cult classic is the few year old UCB (Upright Citizens Brighade).
Its a show i love, and has a strong fan base still out there. I would have liked to see it on the list.
and in terms of cult. Farscape and buffy are about 20 spots higher than they should be. No way 3 and 4.
Python is cult.
Simpsons is a classic, but not cult.

They've released prisoner on vhs (probably on dvd...haven't taken the few seconds to check google). Excellent show. Simpsons riff on it was great, too.
It probably shouldn't make the list of top 25, but The Tick has its own dedicated "cult following."
SPOON!

Just clarify that you're talking about the cartoon. The live action show only had about three or four good episodes, so it didn't have enough time to get the base for a cult.

Well it WAS a cult show, they never said it had to be a cult show now. Thus the Simpsons are on the list and Chemmy actually rationalize something she didn't even intend to rationalize. GOOD FOR YOU!!!

What? Was that an insult or a joke? A little bit of both.

OH YEAH!! Well. . . how did I rationalize something? You proved to me that the Simpsons should be on the cult TV list.

Other Cult Shows That Should've Made the List
1) Fernwood 2Night - One of the first great satires on TV. Barth Gimble's mugging, exasperated persona preceeded Letterman, Leno, and all the others by a decade; if not for him, they'd never be around. Frank De Vol as the basset-faced "Happy Kyne" was a classic as well.
2) The Young Ones: The shows that's gotten closest to the kind of bizarre, surreal, anything can happen humor since Monty Python.
3) Sifl & Olly: The only time I've ever laughed at sock puppets. Chester was one of the greatest characters ever to appear on television, and he was CREASENT FRESH!
4) Newsradio: If not for the death of Phil Hartman, this show would've had many more hilarious years. Great acting talent that's gone on to do many shows by themselves (Maura Tierney: ER, Joe Rogan: Fear Factor, Andy Dick: His own show, Stephan Root: Office Space) What made this show great is exactly what made Seinfeld great - each and every character was so well developed and each of them was hilarious doing their own thing in each episode.

Yeah, and it had Dave Foley! A KITH alum! That guy was the best on that show. You just reminded me that I need to buy Newsradio on DVD. It is on DVD now right?
