Sorry the original post broke down, it's happened before (So I Just Finished Watching thread). Here's the original. Here's the original post by Poe33:Hopefully the first of many: On August 31, Rhino Home Video will release a new 2-DVD set it is calling MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 - THE ESSENTIALS. It will contain two episodes that scored very high on the poll of fans we took several years ago: Episode 321- SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS and episode 424- "MANOS"-THE HANDS OF FATE. The set will have a suggested retail price of $24.95. We have no information yet about any extras that may be included on the set.

Wow. I'm not usually one to complain about things like package design, but that's just plain lazy. At least it was a good cover.

I'm sitting here laughing to myself.
But not because I'm happy. "Ahh Rhino, you've done it again!"

I love that Santa Claus Conquers the Martians is in this, but how utterly lame for Rhino to double-dip us for the same Manos disc most of us already have. Especially when the Season 5 Santa Claus would've been an absolutely perfect pairing with SCCTM.
Oh well, I've been giving my Rhino VHS tapes to one of my best friends as I replaced them with the DVD releases, so I'll just give him my old Manos DVD when I get this new release.

I was going to buy it, but this is seriously an insult. I am not going to buy something they can't even make COVER ART FOR!

Can I be your friend too, donmac? Give it 15 more years. (Of course, at that point, my other friend would've been my friend for over 30 years, so he would still have seniority status. Hmmm)

Yeah, it looks like a rip-off, but at least it's a rip-off of a GOOD cover.

It's only one step above having the moon/spagetti ball on it's own with volume number. But I avoided buying the single DVDs for fear something like this would happen, so I'm quite happy to pick this release up C

Hey guys, I just checked the upcoming releases page on Rhino's web site, and it lists The Essentials as coming out on August 17th. I thought it was delayed until the 31st?
