I don't think Joe Don ever meant what he said about the Brains. I think he was probably just joking. After all, if not for MST3K, where would he be? He's a guy whose career actually got a boost from the attention. Like one man said, the day they stop poking fun at you is the day you can be sure no one cares about you anymore.
Of course, I always liked Joe Don; he's done some great work in movies. Granted, he's no matinee idol, but he never pretended to be. Personally, I think the Rock or someone should have offered him a cameo in the "Walking Tall" remake.

Joe Don Baker wasn't really hurt or harmed by MST3K. I think he was serious, the Brains are the ones who originated the rumor, and they probably heard it in context. The Rock should lay the smackdown on Joe Don Baker is what he should do!

You know, it's as much fun to have a laugh at someone's expense as it is to be made fun of in a good natured way...I enjoy a good riff on me as much as I do on anyone else. I don't think anyone here is making fun of Ol Joe Don to pee him off, as much as to give the rest of the community a laugh. I think that's a good thing. . .and I think that way and laugh just as hard when I'm the butt of the joke. . .
. . .so please, riff away!

BTW, Kevin Murphy said, Joe Don actually, probably was indeed kidding. So I was wrong!

What?! He was KIDDING?!
Damn, now we can't make anymore jokes about him wanting to kick BBI's asses.
But, even if he was kidding, I think that's kind of a tasteless joke.

To be honest, I feel that he's a target simply because the brains made him one in the show, I can understand why he got so pissed, I mean, they did two of his movies. Hes been in plenty of other stuff, and he's not so bad in some of his movies. I think he's been one of the few people who've appeared in Bond movies as too different characters, one bad, one good. He was decent in Dukes of Hazzard, and Mars Attacks, and I think that being in those movies shows that he does have a sense of humor. I'm not ragging on anybody, hell Joe Don jokes are easy and fun, but I think that there are many other people in the MST history who are being over looked and are more deserving, like Tony Cardoza, or Sean Connery's brother, or one of the many guys who decided to cast themselves in their own movies, like the Zombie Nightmare guy.

Just to make a comment on the recent pics of Joe Don, does anyone else think he looks little like Allan Hale Jr now?

When I first saw Joe Don's "Dukes" premiere picture, he looked sort of sickly.
