Mike is the kind of guy you want to root for in real life, for one thing, because he's the Ordinary Guy and not pretentious or whatever. And because, in my case, the entire MST3K cast has always seemed _so_ much like my real-life friends and family, it's scary. I've always gotten this feeling like I would probably get along with them...
As for being in California, well, I've lived in both the Midwest and the West, and managed to survive the transition. (Although in my case it was the other way around--I went from California to Iowa. And then back West, but only to the Mountain West this time, not the Coast.) I assume he would too. ;)
At any rate, congrats to Mike on the new position at Legend, it sounds fun, and I assume he'll do a bang-up job with it. :)

If Woody Allen can be considered a comic genius, then anybody can. Don't bag on Woody Allen, man. While both are comic geniuses, Mike has the advantage of, you know, not schtupping his adopted daughter. Just to let you know: Woody schtupped his girlfriend's adopted daughter. But since I didn't want to take up too much time with this, I'm commenting through an edit on my first post, rather than posting this as a reply.

I do hope he stays in the Midwest, but, hey, even if he moves out west, there's plenty of opportunities for humor with the whole "fish out of water" scenario. Like Coogan's Bluff or Final Justice. Okay, like Coogan's Bluff.

Those Youtube links are probably the best reality show ever made. Well, that could be. There's considerably more reality in these things than there is in most programming tagged as being "reality." You know, for one thing, they don't have Mike trying to eat disgusting things, or make it through a day with Donald Trump without mentioning how ridiculous his toupee looks.
