Sweet!! Looks like a nice lineup. **AND** all are PD movies... The extras look great, and it's cool to know Bert I Gordon doesn't have anything against MST! Now are these Jack Perkins "wraps" the segments used for MST3k Hour? That's certainly encouraging to hear they'll be putting more extras on future sets.

Yeah Travis I noticed that they're all PD movies too, probably a response to the supposed Godzilla vs. Megalon rights debacle.
To me, any four episodes will do, since I have them all, but this is a better than average collection. I'd give Ring of Terror a solid B, as the host segment where Joel teaches the bots the anatomy of a vacuum cleaner is pretty classic. Likewise, the Indestructible Man also gets a B as the riffing is pretty strong during the film, but not so much during the short. Tormented is a strong B + episode and I love the "SESSIONS PRESENTS" running gag. I may get flack for saying this but Horrors of Spider Island was one of the best of Season 10 and gets an A + from me. The movie by itself is quite entertaining (in a sub-Ed Wood kind of way) and the sharp riffing ("Hairy palms? Mother was right!") is on target.
I definitely like the extras as well. The MST Jukebox in Vol. 10 was kinda fun and it will be interesting to learn what songs will be included. I'm also excited to see the Tormented reunion (I'm a big Joe Turkel fan), and hopefully BIG's cooperation means that more of his episodes are on the way. (Fingers crossed for The Amazing Colossal Man and War of the Colossal Beast Essentials 2 pack). What most interests me are the Jack Perkins intros for the MST Hour. I wonder if you'll be able to view the episodes in 2 one hour blocks with the intros, or if it will be the intros by themselves. Either way, it's an exciting extra, one I didn't think we'd ever get to see. (Which makes me wonder if the Tormented episode for the Mystery Science Theater Hour will taken off of the Tape Trading list as well.)
The promise of more exciting bonus features makes me giddy too, and I wonder if since they got BIG for an interview, if he'll come back for future episodes. I also wonder if we can expect more MST Hour episodes in the near future as well. Overall, May 15th can't get here soon enough!
PS: I wonder if anyone won the guess Vol. 11 contest. I only picked one episode correctly (Ring of Terror)...

Fantastic! The only one i've seen is Ring of Terror (which is one of my favorite Season 2 episodes!)! Plus, great extras. I really hope they start using more of the Jack Perkins bumpers. Wow, I'm really excited for this set!

I seriously doubt that they'll allow you to watch Tormented in MST Hour form. That's would just be unnecessary, and I doubt they'll go to the trouble. I imagine that they'll just be an extra on the menu. It's also possible that they'll just bookend the episode with only the Perkins intro and outro, since they've included intros before.

Pretty good set, with some more great extras.
Ring of Terror and Tormented are two solid episodes, and I haven't seen the other two,

I'm really glad to see Ring of Terror on there because as other people have also stated, my fan copy looks like C.R.A.P.
I haven't seen the season 4 Joel episodes so i am looking forward to that (Season 4 was the next season i was gonna get).
Horrors of Spider Island is a decent episode that i've had for a while and glad to see a good quality copy of it.

The DVD box set looks good. A nice mix of episodes, and now Rhino won't lose the rights to them. ;D
I really don't care about all the supposed extra features coming out. Not when the real problem now is the terrible video quality on a few of the last DVD boxsets. Also, this is stuff they should have been doing from the beginning.

(thunk)
Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor. Now THAT'S a list of special features! And it doesn't hurt that the episodes are all great (in my opinion, anyway). I totally forgive Rhino for the long wait - it's worth it for a pristine set like this.
Hey, all the movies are in black and white - is this a first for a Rhino box set?

Ring of Terror will benefit from DVD treatment since the video print they used was so dark and murky. Assuming Rhino doesn't screw up the transfer. Hey, all the movies are in black and white - is this a first for a Rhino box set? Yep.

Interesting mix of eps, espcially ones I've never seen, but I must confess a small disappointment: was really hoping for Zombie Nightmare, Puma Man or Track of the Moon Beast, but hey, any MST on DVD makes me a happy man! From Satellite News: The Mystery Science Theater 3000 Collection: Volume 11, tentatively due out on May 15 from Rhino Home Video, will contain: * episode 206- THE RING OF TERROR (with short: THE PHANTOM CREEPS PT 3) * episode 409- THE INDESTRUCTIBLE MAN (with short: UNDERSEA KINGDOM PT 2) * episode 414- TORMENTED * episode 1011- HORRORS OF SPIDER ISLAND In addition, it will contain these extras: * MST3K Video Jukebox, Volume 2 * Original Theatrical Trailers (for all except "Ring of Terror") * A "Tormented" Reunion (with Bert I. Gordon, Susan Gordon and Joe Turkel) * MST Hour "Jack Perkins" Wraps for "Tormented" And, says our source, "future volumes of the MST3K Collection will feature some pretty exciting extras." Hmmm...

I *think* Zombie Nightmare is owned by Warner Brothers, so it might not be a go for a while.

Rhino: committed to releasing the most mediocre episodes of your favourite shows. Well, they did make up for it with those neat extras. Ring of Terror will benefit from DVD treatment since the video print they used was so dark and murky. Assuming Rhino doesn't screw up the transfer. IMO, "screwing up the transfer" would mean making it watchable. They aired it looking dark and murky, so I would only hope it remains dark and murky. I'm what you'd call an MST3K originalist/sentimentalist/anal-retentivist. But watch this: Rhino will screw it up by digitally altering Servo's head so it's the normal gumball machine instead of the "haircut" head. Oh, I wouldn't put it past them. 206: Crow: (on old-looking teens) "Oh, to be forty again." 409: Lon Chaney (to stool pigeon partner in crime): "I'll get you... all three of you." Joel: "But there's only one of... me." 414: Joel (as blind maid sets down flowers in a vase): "Sure, just put those in the goldfish bowl..." 1011: Servo (as beefy guy upon getting the girls onto the island): "Now I'm going to fashion you all into a crude hut."

I'm so excited about this release!
It looks like Rhino is being smart this time by using ALL public domain movies.
There are so many unreleased PD movies that Rhino can just stick to PD for the next 10 sets LOL
Anyways less then two months away, I can't wait to see 206 Ring of Terror in full DVD glory.
Neil ;D ;D ;D
