That was BBI's doing. They mucked around with the black-and-white movies a lot in Seasons 2 and 3 in an attempt to keep the shadowrama from disappearing into the darker parts of the image, usually tinting the movies blue or purple in an effort to make the black silhouettes stand out. It wasn't until Season 4 that they got the bright idea to just turn up the brightness on the black-and-white movies so that the darkest blacks were just dark gray. Oh, yeah... I remember the "green" shadowrama they had for a while.... Anyway, this purple is damned annoying -- you can barely see Joel and the bots at all, much less the film. I just hope it looks better when I get it home and watch it on the big screen. It's practically unwatchable on my PC's monitor.

Watched Ring Of Terror.
It looks pretty much like the broadcast version as far as I can see. The bluish tint was in the original film and actually looks clearer here than on home made copies (so imagine how hard it used to be to see)
During the swimsuit contest, the shadowrama jerks, as if it was edited and then after Tiny offers food, the screen goes to black (as if going to commercial) and then back just as a riff is being said.
All of that was on the original broadcast version. For anyone who might have been curious or concerned.

However, I am interested in hunting down the alternate international version of Tormented that Bert I. mentioned filming some alternate nude scenes for! ;D You want to see Bert I Gordon naked, now that's sick But seriously if Juli Reding was in those scenes I certainly would like to see them too.

A vast improvement.

What is the image on the disk supposed to be? I know it's a part of the human body (most likely inside), but what is it? Also, I hope I can get to Borders fast to get Vol 11, but I recently got sick, so it's a no go for me at this time. I'll have to rely on my other volumes to keep me entertained untill I can go get it.

After looking at the Ring of Terror disk, I am automatically filled with anxiety.
Where on earth did Rhino get that photo of my brain! Gah!

The Ring of Terror disc made me flinch. It looks like a pig fetus rolled up into a ball.

That's actually such a terrifying disc that I need the set. That would be the coolest-looking dvd in my collection, or in anyone else's, for that matter..

I just realized that Volume 11 marks a milestone: Rhino has now released exactly 100 MST3K episodes on DVD.
That's pretty amazing, if you ask me. 100 out of 176 so far is not bad at all. Great job, Rhino. Please keep them coming!

Great job, Rhino. Please keep them coming! Um...no. 4 episodes per volume, subtract by 3 short compilations, equals 41 episodes from the volume releases. Now add in 11 single episode DVDs (not including the Manos double dip, but including the now OOP Beginning of the End). That makes only 52 episodes. 53 if you include the OOP video Amazing Collosal Man, but that never made it to DVD.

Oh, man, I'm embarrassed. Yes, you're absolutely right. I won't go into how I miscounted so badly, but I did.
Please forget I ever posted that.
