I enjoy Don's reviews the best. Some of them (KTMAs and Sci-Fi) he seems to slack on sometimes (sorry Don), but when he tries, like for the Mitchell review, he really does a great job.

Well, bear in mind I've seen each episode a minimum of 8 times (Hamlet) and something I like, like Final Sacrifice, Lord who knows how many times I've seen that. So the analiyzing thing doesn't come right off the bat.
Hamlet I really studied more than usual because I wanted to get to the heart of why it didn't work. I don't mean to make it sound like I have a rigid, unbendable system but I do take my reviews seriously and work hard on them. When I make a claim, rest assured I'm not blowing smoke up anyones asses.
Also, me being about the laughs was simply how I watched the show, long before I had a review site. I hungered for the laughter and that's what drew me to MST and that's what I'm looking at naturally.
--------bak to the subject------
Any reviewer who entertains as well as informs wins me over. I think it was Forrests Zigra review which made me chuckle. I liked that one very much. And Dons "Jungle Godddess" had me laughing out loud. Josh is just smart as a whip and Torgo's thorough and examines each episode carefully and wisely.
Ator I haven't read in a long time but I remember him as being insightful and Greg, even though his grade scale seems on the tough side, has written some sharp reviews. Vlad I didn't know had a site.
None of these people do I agree with all the time. Maybe I'm different (hell I know I'm different than the rest of the world) but when I read these folks or reviewers in general. For me it's goes beyond simply - "I agree/I don't agree".

About my reviews: I gave up on my reviews. At first I started posting my reviews in a single thread, then I started sending my new reviews to Ator, but he never posted most of them. So, adding me into this poll was kind of pointless. Anyway, I love MightyJack's reviews, but mine favorite is Torgo.

I agree with Mighty Jack. I do admit, I agree more with Don than with anybody, but I just enjoy his reviews. Forrest is a close second and I disagree with him a lot.
Vlad was on Ator's site for a long time. It doesn't matter whether one is currently reviewing or not. You can still read your reviews.

Mr. Atari's also sharp as a tack. I think he and Torgo should start a site together. Make it official. It's too bad Ator doesn't do his reviews anymore. That was shaping up to be a nice place.

I agree about Mr. Atari. I just included people with "official sites" or on offical sites. I think Torgo must have gone to the next dimension. To be honest, I like all the reviewers, even Greg (who I admit, I sort of lifted the format from, but I focus more on the episode) but never got into his reviews because they always seemed so negative. I think each way everyone rates their episodes are fine. Some people, just don't laugh a lot at...much of anything. Some people laugh non stop. For some people it's not the laugh count, it's the entertainment factor. There are some intagables. Just as long as they're well put together that's what really counts!

Okay, I get it now. You're a mark for Shakespeare and you'll undeniably love this terrible episode until the end just for that warm fuzzy feeling. And the riffs too, they were greatly adapted even for this "bore." The only Shakespeare movies they did and they pulled it off excellently. It's not generalization. I watched Hamlet so much that I actually counted the riffs per minute, weighed each and every joke. I thought it through and I'm insulted that you would tag me as a "generalist You may feel whatever you want, but that was my solid opinion and i didn't mean to offend you but give my true perspective. If you thought it through and decided it as offense rather than acknolwedge the criticism than i wonder what's more childish. Like i said when this thread came about it was favorite reviewer, not favorite writer. I disagree with his reviews the most but i never said anything about enjoying or not enjoying them. Yes he does, better to not take offense at some natural criticism of a review, after all this is the thread.

Dear me, has it come to this?
"I thought it through" was in regards to my review. Poor use of periods etc on my part, sorry. What I meant to say was that I don't generalize and I work very hard on my reviews. What I said in that review was done with a lot of thought and a LOT of study.
I'm not sure what a "solid" opinion is. Tagging my work as "Generalization" isn't solid, but mere conjecture based on what evidence? If you read the review you would have noticed that I put a lot of effort into the piece. I state clearly how I analyzed the episode. Again I ask, how can you back that statement up unless you were in the room with me and saw me write the article? When I write how I deeply I explored the episode and you accuse me of generalizing...
Well then, my offense isn't that someone would disagree with my view, but that my integrity and work ethic is being questioned. I don't throw out generalizations, I offer careful examinations based on facts. Aesthetics on the other hand, will vary based on indivdual taste.
That's cool, and I understand that. I see the title of the poll as favorite reviewer, not "Who do you agree with more". Though that seems to be where subjects like this lead. A reviewer is a lot of things, writer is one of them. But I'm exploring a fuller tapestry here; the entertainment and informational value for one and I think when we speak of this subject, we should include these factors in our discussion.
Because calling Don the worst isn't fair. I know you've clairfied this, but that initial statement is what lay at the heart of my defense of Don, he's a damn fine reviewer.
At its root, the term Reviewer refers to one who views, examines and finaly, judges based on his findings. On all three of these -especially the middle one- I think we all, including Don, succeed.
We all work hard to write a fair, thoughtful critique.
I apologize for failing to aknowledge your statment that your judging soley on agreement with a reviewer (within this thread).
I felt, in all fairness, that the rest of the reviewing package be celebrated and that's all I was attempting to do.

I'm not questioning your work ethic, just reviewing of Hamlet. on the contrary i just started viewing your site after i saw it about a year ago and forgotten about it, the extra tidbits and information are nice touches knowing that you take care to make it enjoyable to read.

I think Torgo must have gone to the next dimension. I'll refrain from mentioning Sliders, but with a quote like this it's hard. Let's just say my timer finally lead me back home, and I brought Wade, Rembrandt, and Arturo with me. Screw Quinn.

Don, for sure. His story kind of mirrors mine in why I came to love the show (grew up a fan of a local 'Creature Feature' show on an a UHF channel).
Is one of the few reviewers I've read that seems to agree with my premise that the show suffered a bit, after Trace departed. And I think he's one of the only reviewers that thinks TISCWSLABMUZ is one of the strongest Sci-Fi episodes.

I'm going to say myself, because I always agree with me. ;D
Actually, the only review site that I've read at great length has been Mighty Jack's. His reviews are well-presented and to-the-point - as opposed to my long-winded, barely coherent reviews. I try to read other sites and the reviews posted here, but it's hard with my attention span and busy-ness when online.
