Great stuff, Mr. A.
By the way, The Mole People had a right to be pompous. Not only did they have choreography, they had something of a budget.

Wow. I had forgotten all about this thread.
It looks like I still need to do the KTMAs, season 1, and season 4.
Perhaps this week...

Since you asked, mummi, here's season 1. (I think I'll save season 4 for last, since it's my favorite)...
101- The Crawling Eye A- Spect-ocular 102- Robot vs. The Aztec Mummy D Empty 103- Mad Monster F Unwatchable 104- Women of the Prehistoric Planet B- Tangy 105- The Corpse Vanishes D DOA 106- The Crawling Hand C Asphyxiating 107- Robot Monster B Laughable 108- The Slime People B- Foggy 109- Project Moonbase B SPACOM! 110- Robot Holocaust B- Avacado-Man 111- Moon Zero Two A- Unobjectionable 112- Untamed Youth B+ Underwear! 113- The Black Scorpion D+ Fakey
SEASON 1 SUMMARY: Overall, I prefer the later KTMAs to this season. Most of the films were just plain hard to watch, both literally and figuratively. And while I enjoy Josh in the theater, his Dr. Ehrhardt is just painful. Throw in the sparser-than-normal riffing, and it's my least favorite season.

Season: KTMA.
I'm going to restrict this to eps they didn't do again later. No point in doubling up on the reviews- this ain't that scientific.
K09- Phase IV C- Itchy K10- Cosmic Princess C Viewmaster K11- Humanoid Woman C Androgynous K13- SST-Death Flight B+ "Star"-studded K15- Superdome B+ Melodramatic K16- City on Fire B Disastrous K18- Million Eyes of Su-Maru B Girls! K19- Hangar 18 B X-File-ish K20- The Last Chase B Gaseous K21- The Legend of the Dinosaur C- Forgettable
SEASON KTMA SUMMARY: If you take out the doubles, this is better than season 1, in my opinion. On the whole, the films are eminently watchable on their own, unlike some other seasons (1,2, and 10 come to mind). The riffing and pace of the show takes some getting used to, and the episodes feel very rough. My review of Cosmic Princess is because I had Viewmaster slides of Space1999. I've since sent them to MightyJack as a present.

Finally. The one we've all been waiting for. "We", meaning me and mummi.
Season 4 (The Greatest Season)
401: Space Travelers B Franciscus 402: Giant Gila Monster A+ Leg-up 403: City Limits C+ Post-Apoplectic 404: Teenagers from Outer Space B TORCHA! 405: Being from Another Planet B- Crystal-vision 406: Attack of the Giant Leeches B- Swampy 407: The Killer Shrews B Alcoholic 408: Hercules Unchained B Amnesiac 409: The Indestructible Man B- Disregarded 410: Hercules Against the Moon Men B Sandstorm 411: The Magic Sword A Adventurous 412: Hercules and the Captive Women B+ Uranus 413: Manhunt in Space B Winky 414: Tormented A+ Un-Hitchcockian 415: The Beatniks B+ Amoral 416: Fire Maidens from Outer Space A Timmy 417: Crash of the Moons B Lightning 418: Attack of the the Eye Creatures A Smoochers! 419: The Rebel Set A+ Textbook 420: The Human Duplicators A Standout 421: Monster a-Go-Go A Anti-climactic 422: The Day the Earth Froze A+ Sampo-riffic! 423: Bride of the Monster B+ Cheap 424: Manos A+ Essential
SEASON 4 SUMMARY: Were there better episodes in other seasons? Sure. But season 4 collectively tops 'em all. A good mix of watchable movies and stinkbombs. A good mix of esoteric host segments and just plain goof-offs. It's not a perfect season, as it starts a bit slow (especially if you don't like Herc movies). But there are no terrible episodes anywhere, and it finishes on an amazing streak. Whenever I think of classic, prototypical MST, that contains everything that makes the show great, I think of Season 4.

Excellent work my friend, I had been waiting and anticipating season four like you wouldn't believe. Really, it was pretty sick, I think I need to see a shrink.

Thank you. I hope it measured up to your expectations.
The fun of these was not overthinking anything. Just writing the first word that came to mind that was both descriptive of and (occasionally) a review of that episode. (And hoping I wasn't re-using any words).

Like your reviews. I agree with your reviews on seasons 8-10, which leads me to trust you on other seasons. I came late to MST3K, but I have some classic eps. like Manos, Mitchell, and Pod People, but I want to know more about earlier seasons. You mention other good reviews sites. What are they? Thanks!

Thanks, stephen. I went to college with a Stephen Riker. If you went to college in the mid-90s in the Chicago area, you might be him. I would say the top 2 review sites out there are... 1) Mighty Jack's Reviewsand 2) Don's MST3K Review (the site that spawned this message board) When I was building my collection, I found Don's site to be invaluable. Currently, I'd say Mighty Jack has the best one going, and I've found I agree with him most of the time. Incidentally, most of the reviewers on those sites are regulars here, and are all-around nice guys.

I just NOW found this thread. Brilliant and so dead on! I love these reviews SO much that I’m going to print and make these lists the ‘Table of Contents’ for my MST3K DVD collection.
Excellent Job Atari! Thanks so much!
