I read your recent review of Zombie Nightmare. The only thing I would have like to have seen was pasta tossing Jimbo gets his just rewards on screen. And any excuse to post pictures of Tia Carrere is a good excuse.

I figured that I may never get another semi-legitimate reason to post pictures of an attractive woman on my blog, so I decided to seize the opportunity. As for Jimbo, I guess the Brains felt the bat-impaling was a little too gory or, at the very least, disturbing. From what little I've read, it seems the film wasn't exceptionally gory to begin with.
A quick open question for everyone: What do you think of the Zombie review? Is the content good, or is something missing? Too many pictures, or is it okay as it is? Just curious, because I'm not sure I'm a good judge of such things. I'm still fine-tuning the whole review writing and formatting.

I thought your Zombie Nightmare review was well done. I like your writing style. Not too many pictures for my tastes.
Edit: Oh, and Dean Hogopian being the lead singer for a band is just plain wrong.

Thanks. I appreciate that. You know, I wish I could've dug up (no zombie pun intended) more information about Dean. I really think his character is underrated, as far as memorable MST movie characters go. I'm just going to assume that the voice he used in ZN wasn't his natural one.

Well, finally typed up another review. Wild World Of Batwoman. I encourage you to also partake of the other fruits of my blog, if that is something you think you would find desirable. Thank you, won't you?

Hugh, if you did any of the Santa Claus's (episodes) you should post your review in this week's contest. I was about to post one myself and was intimidated by one of the entrie's. But I know Mr. Cleaver's good natured wholesomeness can do it! Off-topic: Speaking of wholesomeness there's something about Beaumont I'm dying to know. I accepted the fact that the actor Hugh Beaumont probably did pose for a Santa hat photo durring the appropriate time of the year ... but I can't believe CBS or whatever television station it was, would have allowed the Beav's dad to wear a plastic New Year's hat while holding a cold beer. At least they wouldn't have taken a picture and published it. Not durring those quaint times. So I'm guessing you altered the picture, right? Probably both Holiday photos ...though I would be tickled to death if I was wrong ... Edit: I just read your review of Wild, Wild Batwomen. Heacliff as Scott Thompson - heh heh. I don't remember that line, but your photo's make sense. While I never saw KITH in concert, I did get their autographs and met them in person when they stoped at the Virgin Store in Chicago. I got the nerve to ask Scott Thompson if KITH were at all influenced by Monty Python, "No," he replied "We were influenced by Hee-haw." True Story Okay, I'm sorry to keep getting off-topic. A very nice review Hugh.

But I know Mr. Cleaver's good natured wholesomeness can do it! I'm not really into "review" contests. Reviewing something properly is more of a project for me, and I'd really rather save that effort for my blog. I'm super-lazy, so one lousy review is a huge undertaking for me. That's why I post far too few of these. And I do seem to have somehow forgotten to post a Christmas review. Oops. The Santa hat and the New Year's beer/hand and hat were all added by me. I made one avatar from this picture and just added the other elements with Photoshop. I'm flattered that you'd think it was real. Good story. When did you see them in Chicago? I'd love to see or meet them. I was just watching this clip a few days ago and remembering how much I miss them. And please do bring them up in this thread. If we can find time for Tia Carerre, then we can find time for KITH. Also, thanks for the kind words. I knew I could count on you.

Yeah the Kids are great! They were in Chicago about five years back and were promoting their Live Concert DVD. Either I was too broke to see their concert of they were going to Naperville. (I got my stories mixed up. Eric Idle of Monty Python fame was the one I was too knocked up to see.) Anyway they threw I guesse a fan conference at the Virgin Store in downtown Chicago. There were about two hundred people there and I was one of the lucky five who got to ask them a question and Bruce McCulloch called me personally to be first in line for autographs. I think it was because (and I'm not trying to be at all racist here or suggest racism on anybody's part) while there were 75% white males and about 24% white females I was the only black female in the audience, so I stood out so to speak. (Being African American has it's privledges.) Will KITH ever tour America again, I don't know. I'm not sure if they're even still speaking to each other. Now if I could just meet Mike Nelson, Bill Corbet and Kevin Murphy, my life would be complete.

Ah, finally a new review. You summed up the loathesomeness of the movie quite well, although I don't enjoy watching the episode and give it a very low grade. The short is great. I can't really blame the unpleasantness of the episode on weak riffing. It's just the movie. It gives me a headache whenever I watch it. So. Incredibly. Stupid. Your 10 Batty Things were all quite apropos.

Not that I'd be opposed to meeting the others, of course. I really want to meet Mike, Trace, and Frank. The others, honestly, I could pass on. (But, again, I wouldn't avoid them!) I suppose maybe Joel too... so long as he's not as aloof as he seems.

In fact, I actually gave the episode a higher grade when I first watched it. Sometimes a certain kind of bad movie just fascinates me and makes the episode all that much more enjoyable. Coleman Francis also does it for me. (There's a bad sentence for ya.) Still, Batwoman just gets less enjoyable/jarring, the more you watch it. And the host segments bother me too much, also.

I'm making up for my lack of reviews. I just put up a review of KTMA episode 16, City On Fire.
I'd love to get some feedback on the reviews... like, are they too long? Too boring? Not coherent? I can't shake the feeling that I'm doing something wrong, though it could just be my paranoia.

I just want to let those of you who care know that I've migrated my MST3K bloggings to a new location. The old blog is still there, but the MST3K material will now be appearing here: Deep ApeThat is all. (I'm hoping to turn it into a general, all-purpose MST news blog, too. But I digress.)
