Does anyone else have a list (whether on paper or in the back of your head) of films you're wanting to come out on DVD? ("Brides of Dracula" had been on my list and I'm glad to see it's finally being released.)
My current list would include:
"Mutiny on the Bounty" (Brando version)
"Husbands" (preferably a longer cut, or at least some nice extras like the BBC "making of" documentary)
"Burn!" (Director's cut. Has been screened at several film fests this past year--but where's the DVD?)
"Lanton Mills" (a short film Terrence Malick made right before "Badlands." This one also had Warren Oates in it)

I forgot Lindsay Anderson's "If" and "O Lucky Man." I'm stunned both of these are unavailable.

I can't wait for Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. I hear that they'll include some of the (much needed) Guide Entries that they had to cut out of the movie for some reason.

Sin City!!! It's coming out next month and I can't wait. I'm also waiting for The Decline Of Western Civilization: The Metal Years, and an underrated comedy starring Bill Murray called Quick Change. He plays a bank robber in that film and I've always loved it. I did find out that it's FINALLY coming out on DVD next month so that's one I'll be picking up for sure.

With Peter Lore? That was just on TCM the other night. Caught the first part after a very forgettable Mickey Rooney film called "The Strip." Wish we'd taped "Mad Love" instead.

I love that movie, Peter Lorre and Colin Clive are at their best IMO. Such a great movie. I hope you can catch it again soon.

I LOVE the books and I got the television show on netflix. The movie may be as bad as people say, but Marvin looks pretty cute in the credits. I mean, his head's SO BIG! Okay. I'm also looking forward to "Oldboy", a South Korean film. I heard it was pretty good.

The Innocents from 1961 was pretty high on my "MIA on DVD" list, but now that's finally being released on DVD this Fall (and in widescreen for the first time ever on any video format!)

Can't believe that wasn't available. Good film. Even the crappy Brando "prequel," "The Nightcomers," is available on DVD in the UK.

Star Wars Episode III. I just love all the extras on those things. I'm also looking foward to Hitchhikers Guide, but only because I never had the time to see it in theaters.

I've pre-ordered:
Star Trek: Enterprise Season 3 Star Trek: Nemesis - Special Collector's Edition Star Trek: Enterprise Season 4 Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
I plan on pre-ordering:
Batman Begins Mr. & Mrs. Smith
This year I've been opting to buy TV shows on DVD as opposed to films. I haven't really been impressed with that many movies this year. Of all the films so far in 2005, I've only bought one (Constantine) and plan on buying three more (all mentioned above). I might get Sky High, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and Fantastic Four eventually, but maybe not right away. And most likely War of the Worlds because it's Spielberg, even though it was a disappointing effort from him. But instead of films, this year alone I've picked up Spider-Man: The New Animated Series, Star Trek: Enterprise Season 1, Star Trek: Enterprise Season 2, Titus Seasons 1 & 2, Sliders Seasons 1 & 2, Sliders Season 3, the Simpsons Season 5, and the Simpsons Season 6.
Damn that's a lot of television. Good quality television too. No wonder I've been watching these as opposed to the crap that's on prime time. That explains why most DVDs I'm anticipating are TV shows, the ones not yet released yet being Get Smart and Whose Line is it Anyway?
