GIGLI is better than ACO and TA? Wow. Remember that Ebert says his star ratings are relative, so his 2.5 star rating is only actually comparing Gigli to other crappy Ben Affleck/JLo movies like Jersey Girl. And, also, on his scale, 2.5 stars and below = Thumbs Down

Ebert is a doofus. Look at this quote from his review.
Hypothetical Audience? Gee Ebert, they made a movie about it, you think there has to be some type of audience dumbass!
So just because you know pieces of pop culture, you suddenly become a "brainy techno nerd?"
I'll let Forrest cream the rest of his review if he wants.

Remember to do a review of a film with a black director-- Ebert once said he would never give a bad review to a movie with a black director. I want to see that in print because it really sounds like an urban legend. It reminds me of the " I would rather die than have a white person buy one of my albums" stuff. Besides it's not true. Off the top of my head, I remember he gave a bad review to Spike Lee's "Bamboozled" and "Hav Plenty" was even in his" I hated hated hated this movie" book. In fact last year when he trashed "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" and the character of Madea, he got a lot of backlash and was called a racist because god forbid that somebody didn't like a black movie.

Actually, in his review of Bamboozled, he says that what he really hated was that he thought the film was racist and degraded black people (even added a comment about those disgusting white people who used to pay to see minstrel shows.) He actually has nothing but adulation for Spike Lee; he just "misjudged his material and audience in the same way Whoopi Goldberg did, and for the same reason: He doesn't find a successful way to express his feelings, angers and satirical points." "Hav Plenty" does not appear in Ebert's review archive; I guess I'd have to read the book (yeah right, I'll really give him my money). In his review of "Mad Black Woman," he says that he very much liked the non-Madea parts; it was only Madea he didn't like. But I'm wrong, of course, right, rafael? What a stupid backwards-ass Bush lover I am. Duh...

I didn't know he was supposed to trash on Spike Lee totally. And the post wasn't even about you but about Ebert but you are right. You're a joke.

Okay guys. Take it outside.
Your antagonism, while compelling, has slipped to "meet me at the bike racks after school" territory.
So let's get back to the topic and no more beers for either of you.
