Not only is this movie probably the funniest thing out there in the movie theaters right now but the Steve Carell character has a Mystery Science Theater 3000 poster. I almost freaked out when I saw that. Its a great movie IMHO especially for Steve Carrell fans.

Doesn't that mean he's insulting us? Oh well, I guess it could be a nice little ref, but reminds me too much of the Sabrina episode where everyone is a nerd or something and someone says "suddenly I must watch every MST3K episode," or something. Then again, Frank and Joel both worked on the show.

I sometimes flip into an episode when I think Frank might be on, but usually, I'll flip back realtively shortly. I sadly, still haven't seen one of the eps where Frank is on.

That'd be the only thing to get me to watch it. Caroline Rhea makes me violent.

I gotta see this.
Steve Carrell is great! I really like him on the American version of "The Office" and he had an extremely tough act to follow (Ricky Gervais).

You could only see the poster for a moment, and if they wanted to make fun of MST3K, they would have just come right out and made fun of it. BTW, it's a very, very funny movie.

Hopefully the success of this movie will make Carrell more popular and boost the rating of The Office. (They were dismal during the Spring, so we're lucky NBC didn't cancel it then - don't know how much longer the show will last if the ratings don't improve this Fall.)

I don't know, people always do some not so subtle knocks like that. I wouldn't doubt it being a slam.

The character is a geek ... and the movie is called "The 40 year old virgin" It can't be anymore obvious than that. But do I care? No. And that's because it was a slam by today's Hollywood.... which is like being insulted by a retarded jellyfish.

Yeah, come on people it's obviously an insult, but it's still funny. Just accept us MiSTies are geeks. Exactly! And who cares what most people think is cool anyway? Your average idiot's idea of heaven is shopping at Wal-Mart then rushing home for reality television. Joel said it best in an interview about the show: "The right people will get this."
