This one is a tough choice... "The Last Emperor" is one of those Best Picture winners that NO ONE remembers a single thing about (something about a Chinese kid or something...) "Terms Of Endearment" and "Out Of Africa" are something only a very brave soul would watch to satisfy a first date who loves multiple-hanky sob stories. But, I think the worst out of them all is definately "Chariots Of Fire". If you want two hours of guys in tiny shorts running in dramatic slow motion, as a droning Casio musical score blips, bloops and bleeps over and over until your skull implodes.....this is your movie!

Hey, I love Chariots of Fire.
My vote goes for Driving Miss Daisy. 1989 saw the release of the following movies that are far superior to DMD: "Dead Poets' Society", "Do The Right Thing", "My Left Foot", Branagh's "Henry V", "Batman", "Indiana Jones 3", and "UHF".
Not only did DMD beat all of those movies, it won best picture the same year as the release of one of the best movies ever made, "Glory".

All these films are overrated.
As much as I have to say I truly dislike Chariots of Fire, Driving Missy Daisy is the one I moaned my way through the most.
God it's awful...

Didn't like Ms. Daisy at all.
Although I must admit, I loved Nicholson's performance in "Terms" (quintessential Jack) and Peter O'Toole's in "Last Emperor." Neither are really great films though.

I've only seen Amadeus (HATED) and Rain Man (enjoyed) out of these. Though I intend to see the others.

I've only seen Amadeus (HATED) and Rain Man (enjoyed) out of these. Though I intend to see the others. Wow! My view of those two movies is the exact opposite. (I think Amadeus is the one movie on this list that actually deserved the Oscar. The rest of the winners didn't.)

But we love her anyway.

I'm gonna say Rain Man because I can't stand Tom Cruise. Most of the other ones were good, although yeah, Driving Miss Daisy was a little tiring. But Amadeus is like my second or third favorite movie EVER. I've seen it about thirty million times, and I love it even more each time.

Maybe "Ordinary People" wasn't as bad as some of the others on this list, but I thought that this was about which movie was least deserving of its Best Picture, and by that standard, "Ordinary People" was the least deserving. "Raging Bull" should have been Best Picture in 1980. End of story.

I voted Rain Man. I also hate Cruise and even tho I really like Hoffman he just couldn't save this movie.
I guess I'm one of the few here who actually enjoys Driving Miss Daisy. I may just be biased since it was filmed in my hometown of Memphis, but I really think it is a sweet story.
