Share your favorites. These used to be great back in the 70s. The new ones mostly suck (thanks, Hallmark).
A few personal favs:
Trilogy of Terror Night Gallery (later became series) Duel The Night Stalker (later became series) Dracula (Dan Curtis/Jack Palance version) Dark Night of the Scarecrow

"The Longest Night" with David Janssen. I still need to see that. I need to see "Lizzie Borden" and "Killdozer," too. Good list, Change B. Goode.

I remember one from when I was a kid (early-mid 80s) about a 12 year old who had 6 weeks to live. He was promised 3 wishes from his nurse/caretaker. One of his wishes was not to die a virgin, and I'm pretty sure she accomodated him.
I don't remember the movie's name, but it had a big impact on me at the time...
There was a TV version of Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery" starring Dan Cortese, Stephen "Jimmy James" Root, and the Felicity chick. It was very memorable due to how badly it sucked.

Not too long ago I saw a good one (with an awful title) called "A Sensitive Passionate Man."
Despite the stupid title, this was a pretty good 70s drama with David Janssen as a man who loses his job (his identity) and slolwy drinks himself to death. Angie Dickinson played his long-suffering wife.
It was very well done. Unsentimental, but extremely depressing. Probably the best thing I've ever seen Janssen in.

Trilogy of Terror is the best. I love that little voodoo doll.
I remember 2 from the 70's-80's that were good, but I cannot remember the name of either one for the life of me.
The first took place on an airplane. I think it may have had William Shatner in it. Only scene I remember is something about a doll melting into the floor of the plane or something like that. Maybe a plane with a ghost or something.
The second was about some old lady that had a growth on her back or neck and by the end of the movie it had grown into an indian man. Sounds weird I know, but I swear I saw this.
I wish there was a channel that showed these old movie of the week movies.
Is dark night of the scarecrow the one with charles durning( I think) about a group of rednecks chasing some dimwit they think killed a little girl, he gets into a scarecrow outfit they kill him, & revenge ensues? I remember a movie like that.
Who could forget the movie about Micheal Landon's childhood where he wets the bed and his mom hangs the sheets out the window.

The retarded guy is played by LA Law's Larry Drake.

Maybe a plane with a ghost or something. Possibly "Horror at 37,000 Feet" (1973). I've never seen it, but need to. No idea about the Indian guy that emerges from the woman.

I remember a movie that had little monsters about 8 inches tall with little spears and they would stab at peoples feet as they stood at the edge of their bed. I think it was called "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" or something like that.

Starring Kim Darby and Jim Hutton "We want you, Sally...We want you..."Another one that had me turning on lights before going into rooms. One of the most vivid memories of this movie, for me, was when the little monsters are trying to turn out the lights in the bathroom using a coat hanger.

Just wanted to mention if anyone needs a copy "Killdozer," our own Skyroniter has it (and other great rare films) available on his site. www.mst3kvideos.com/extras.htmI can certainly attest to the quality of his DVDs.

It was about a teenager who has a rare disease that causes him to age extra fast. It was called "The Three Wishes of Billy Grier", and it starred Ralph Macchio, Hal Holbrook, Jeffrey Tambor, and Laura Dern. I don't know for sure if it was a nurse, but the whole virgin thing was definitely one of the wishes. Ah, 1984. What a great time to be a pre-teen. imdb.com/title/tt0088261

I'll try to check it out. That would have been my first wish, too. Probably also my second & last wish. LOL
