Harry Knowles slams The Fog remake so hard in his review, it's actually a funny review to read. (And given how much this fanboy loves practically every horror movie ever made, this one must really suck!)

Wow... just wow.
I didn't like the original fog that much. While I thought it was done reasonably well (what with the special effects and all), the premise itself was kinda dumb and I found myself laughing through a lot of it. But Holy crap. It seems like just another case of a big giant movie company getting ahold of a quasi-decent horror film from the seventies or eighties and redoing it, while making it suck twelve times more than it did originally.

I've only seen the beginning of the original Fog, it looked alright, but nothing special. Poor John Carpenter. This year alone, he had two of his films remade (the first was Assault on Precinct 13). I wonder how many their going to pick off his tree for years to come?
That said, I did not read the review, nor do I plan to. AICN is a joke. Sure they're foul mouthed, inexplicably angry, and severly out of control posters are worth a laugh, but other than that, I find the site to be a waste of time.

Hey, John Carpenter is also guilty of remakes... I'm well aware of that. But even so, his remake of the Thing is still being eyed as being remade itself. Not to mention about a week ago somebody said they were working on the Halloween remake. Hope that one doesn't get too far.

There is absolutely ZERO reason to even think about remaking Halloween.

I kinda liked the original for its cheesiness...Yet another terrible remake of a film for no other reason than to make a profit. Lame. I will have to admit however that I LOVED the remake of Dawn Of The Dead. Other than that exception STOP WITH THE DAMN REMAKES ALREADY

There's zero reason to make any movie in the first place. If they want to let them. It won't ruin one of the best horror films of all time. If it's good, good for them. If it's bad, get over it. That's my way of life.

Normally I would roll my eyes and forget about it, but not with this one. It is Ridiculous and I hope it never sees the light of day.
