The next X-Men movie (I'm guessing it'll be called X3) will be out next year. I am rather excited about this project, seeing as how I was a huge comic book nerd back in the day, and the first two movies were just so damn good. So, from what IMDB tells me, the villains will be: Juggernaut (a personal favorite of mine) and The Brotherhood However, I'm not sure if the X-Men and Brotherhood will team up to stop Juggernaut, or if the two teams will clash. Of course, the whole Phoenix thing will be dealt with, since Jean is back on the roster. Kelsey Grammer will be in this one as well, as Beast. I have a feeling they are going to go the 'Spiderman' route with Beast, making his fights and acrobatics CG whilst keeping him in the suit (or if they want, perhaps Beast will be pre-fur Beast, which would be kinda cool). Both Colossus and Multiple Man will be making an appearance in this flick, so this should be interesting. The only guy who's probably not going to be in this that I would like to be is Gambit. But ah well. (Source: us.imdb.com/title/tt0376994/ )

Nope, Gambit's not in it. This was confirmed a while ago back when there were many rumors of just a small cameo. If you want the latest in X3 rumors and news, I suggest you visit www.superherohype.com or more specificly their X-Men Hype section. They're excelent for this stuff. But both it and it's sister site www.comingsoon.net seem to be down right now. I don't know what the problem is, but try it later.

Thanks for the links Torgo, I have checked these sites out before, but I just thought I'd go with the general IMDB thing for now, until something really kickass comes up.

I am looking forward to it, with reservations. I loved the first one and *really* loved the second one, but with a different director and word that it will go a different direction than the last movie, I'm not quite sure what to think. And Kelsey Grammar as Beast?? Very odd. Oh well, as long as they feature plenty of Lady Deathstryke I guess they can do pretty much whatever they want.

I too am disappointed that Singer stepped down to do Superman Returns. But Brett Ratner's a competant director and judging by what he did with Red Dragon, I think he's definatly able to treat the franchise with respect.
Plus I think Grammer is a brilliant choice for Beast.
Also, don't count on Deathstryke being in the movie. From what I know Kelly Hu wasn't asked back, not to mention she was dead as a doornail in X2.

I actually had heard that Kelly Hu may be back in the future - either in flashbacks or as a somewhat-resurrected android (I don't follow the comics but I have heard something about this happening?) I was actually pretty sure she was offered the chance to appear in future movies, maybe nothing too "major" of a part. I have no idea what the current situation is on that but to the best of my knowledge there is a chance that she may be back.
Also I don't believe I've seen anything by Ratner so it's pretty much an open question for me in terms of his directing.

The most popular films he's done have been the Jackie Chan/Chris Tucker action-comedies Rush Hour and Rush Hour 2. I don't know about anybody else here, but I love both. He's also done the Manhunter remake/Silence of the Lambs prequel Red Dragon and the Family Man starring Nicholas Cage. He's also responsible for the films Money Talks and After the Sunset, which are his least popular (and for good reason).

I take it back - I have seen both Rush Hour movies. It's been quite a while, but I seem to remember enjoying them both. No idea if they are applicable to what he might have in mind for X-men 3 in terms of directing, but at least I enjoyed them.

Wow... cool!
I'm still struggling with quicktime on firefox for some reason though... Damn, I want to see that trailer.
Got it! This is going to be probably the first movie I'm going to make a concious effort to see in a while.

I heard that the movie was going to be about Beast struggling with his looks and the sentinels. Anybody else heard that?
