The full trailer for Peter Jackson's remake of King Kong is up at Apple's website. This movie looks like a winner (and gets bonus points for being set in the 1930s, the time of the original movie).

Lord of the Rings was alright, I'm not going to watch them again anytime soon, but they were good. Just not my thing. I'm a much bigger fan of Peter Jackson's the Frighteners.
I'll definatly see King Kong. Mostly because I'm a fan of the original movie, plus big ass monster movies are always a must see for me.
Bring on the big monkey!

This does look pretty good for a remake.
But I don't know if I will enjoy it as much as the first Kong movie.

I'm going to see this. I, too, am a big fan of PJ's "The Frighteners", an overlooked gem. But I'm also a LOTR nerd. And while I never got into the original, I'm looking forward to PJ's take on his favorite film.

Well I remember seeing the original 1933 movie and thought it was a fine piece of work. I wasn't too big on the 1970's remake by Paramount. But since Jackson is basing this off the original, even setting it in the 1930's, I'm willing to give it a try. Jackson has revealed that this movie will be around 3 hours long, so when I got a day off with nothing to do. I'll see it.
My only wish is I hope Jackson has shot the famous Spider scene that has been missing from the original for almost a century. I've wanted to see this scene for a long time (After seeing the one production photo), and seeing as it'll be a cold day in hell till it is found, I hope fans and those interested in the scene will at least be able to see a new version of the scene.

Supposed the lost Spider scene was reshot by Jackson and his people for inclusion in the November DVD release of the original film. Yeah, this is one of the great missing scenes. What's sad is nowadays they are much more careful about film preservation, but there's so little that's actually worth preserving. LOL

I might seem crazy
But has anyone seen the TV commercial? And does it look like Jack Black is in it?

Hey does anybody have the collectors edition of the original King Kong movie? I'm interested in getting it before I see the new one. The reason I'm asking is, I've heard that Peter Jackson recreated the "spider scene" from the original as a bonus feature for some dvd or other, and I'm trying to figure out exactly what dvd version includes it. The collectors edition I saw at Walmart made no mention of that or anything to do with the new remake, and while it looked like a superb package, I would still like to see that bonus feature.

Saw the trailer last night before watching Harry Potter.
CG biplanes buzzing the beast...worth the price of admission alone. ;D

siamese, between Kong and Narnia, I'm bummed that you don't live out here. I think we'd have a good time hanging out this month.
