I agree with you though, the last two Matrix movies sucked, The Village was as slow as molasses in January and predictable to boot, and Pearl Harbor... was just... bad. It was nothing revolutionary, and was easily Shamalamadingdong's worst film, but I still liked it. ;D

One Forrest already mentioned...
Breaking the Waves
Yes, I get it. The bells are ringing. Yes, I get it. Really I'm not an idiot...you're audience does not consist of people who are as stupid as you are, the Frank Capra of Denmark. Really. Shove your ending a little harder down my throat. Asshat.

Actually, I mentioned it first, but we're all in agreement here. This film literally made me vomit. From the awful shaky-cam to the horrific religious overtones to the uplifting, feel-good ending, it all sucks. For all of you who haven't seen it, here's a summary: Simple, retarded girl grows up in a family that mistreats her, works in a church and talks to God, he talks back (she uses a different voice for that part) and she believes he hates her. So she finally meets a nice man who marries her, but then gets crippled in an oil rig accident. So he tells her to sleep with other men because he loves her so much (yep). So she does. Then she goes on the oil rig dressed as a prostitute, gets gang-raped and beat to death. Ta-da!

Hell for me would be a Michael Moore film festival.
I'm also angry at Taxi Driver, which we just watched in film class, because it was supposed to be better and probably could have been, if not for that ludicrous happy ending.

Some people have debated whether the ending is true, or if it's actually Bickle's dying thoughts of what he'd like to have happen.
Martin Scorcese says it's the truth, but Bickle looking in the mirror means he'll probably just end up going off again.

Bickle a celebrity and getting the girl is a happy ending?! How so....? I see that as one of the darkest endings of a film ever!

I have several categories for this one. I am filled with anger.
Most frustrating movies I've ever seen: U-Turn, Reindeer Games
Overrated movies (ones that "everybody" loves that I despise): The Patriot, Deliverance, Taxi Driver, Poltergeist, Dead Poet's Society
Ones I will never watch again because of one part/the ending: Devil's Advocate, Man in the Moon, Resovoir Dogs
Movies I sat through for some god awful reason and wanted to punch myself for doing so: Dude Where's My Car, Intolerable Cruelty
So boring I wanted to punch myself for entertainment: Possession, 13th Warrior, Under the Tuscan Sun
Dammit, I know there are many MANY more. One in particular, that was so bad I was using the riff "END! END!" through most of it. Totally can't remember though.
I will be back.

That's a movie i'd rewatch, but skip the end of.

Hey Nerdie, you forgot Spinal Tap. Or maybe that's a different category: When fans of certain movies make you angry. You know, when they overhype, overquote, or oversell a certain movie until you are so annoyed you swear off that movie forever. For me, throw "2001" & "A Clockwork Orange" into that category.

FLAME WAR AHEAD! FLAME WAR AHEAD! Good Will Hunting made me want to destroy my soul. Except for Minnie Driver because, well, I like to watch (if not listen). And Garden State had a lot of potential in the first half hour with its weirdness that almost reminded me of something in Harold and Maude. But the rest got too sincere.

Now, I thoroughly enjoyed most of "2001" and loved all of "A Clockwork Orange". You're missing my point. I'm not saying these movies are bad or that they make me angry. It's that the fan base of certain movies is so rabid and obnoxious that you avoid the movies on general principle. I think most of us have movies that would fall into this category. It's why Nerdie won't watch "Spinal Tap" again; it's why many people avoid Monty Python; it's why lots of people were turned off by the Lord of the Rings movies- all great movies, in my opinion. But it's also why I don't have any interest in "2001" or "ACO"- I've seen them both and was ambivalent about them, but I'm tired of being told how brilliant they are-- and no, it's not just Forrest.
