(AP) -- The 25 films selected for the 2005 National Film Registry:
"Baby Face" (1933) (Pre-Hayes Code - Barbara Stanwick sleeps her way to the top. Literally.)
"The Buffalo Creek Flood: An Act of Man" (1975)
"The Cameraman" (1928) (BRILLIANT Buster Keaton comedy.)
Commandment Keeper Church, Beaufort, South Carolina, May 1940
"Cool Hand Luke" (1967) (Egg salad, anyone?)
"Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (1982) (Dude! Got a bong?)
"The French Connection" (1971) (Seat belts fastened?)
"Giant" (1956) (One of the first films to explore women's rights in a male society.)
"H2O" (1929)
"Hands Up" (1926)
"Hoop Dreams" (1994)
"House of Usher" (1960) (Roger Corman is vindicated!)
"Imitation of Life" (1934)
Jeffries-Johnson world championship fight (1910)
"Making of an American" (1920)
"Miracle on 34th Street" (1947) ("But when he spoke Dutch to that little girl . . . ")
"Mom and Dad" (1944)
"The Music Man" (1962) (I think they're missing a trombone.)
"Power of the Press" (1928)
"A Raisin in the Sun" (1961) (I still like this film.)
"The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (1975) (It's just a jump to the left.)
San Francisco earthquake and fire, April 18, 1906 (1906)
"The Sting" (1973) (The one I disagree with. I never did, and still don't, like this film.)
"A Time for Burning" (1966)
"Toy Story" (1995)

The Sting is a great movie. I've never seen the Cameraman, but I have seen The General, and that's a great one.

Shep, next time you watch it, watch the development of Elizabeth Taylor's "matriarch" in the male-dominated society. She wins.
