Some of Nic Roeg's films have really great openings, especially "Don't Look Now" (little girl playing too close to the lake, Donald Sutherland pulling her out in slow motion), "Walkabout" (chaotic shots and sounds of the city and progress, while nature looms in the background) and "Performance" (alternating shots of the limo, gangster Chas having violent sex with a girl, watching himself in the mirror, etc.)

Aguirre the Wrath of God- One of my favorite movies. It has one of the best openings ever. I also liked almost every opening from the Star Wars series except for attack of the clones. I love Aguirre but can't remember the opening....they're walking along the mountain?

I love Aguirre but can't remember the opening....they're walking along the mountain? Yep. Going down the huge mountain. From the Andes to the rainforest.

The opening to Halloween was pretty memorable, and really original as it was made before the slasher flood of the 80's.

I'm not sure if it was an opening shot, but The Keep had an incredibly long zoom-in sequence.
