We've been extolling the virtues of Japanese animation around here, and I was wondering if anyone has seen this incredible French animated feature. Directed by Sylvain Chomet, it's a real breath of fresh air. Anyone else?

I loved that movie! Whoever made it must have had a dog he studied very closely.

Really awesome. The only film without dialogue that I've ever enjoyed (let alone enjoyed so much).

Yeah, I thought it was fantastic. The animation was beautiful, and the characters were hilarious. I especially liked the massively engorged calf muscles of the bike rider, and the little old lady blowing the whistle.

Yeah, it's great! I was amazed that the movie is pretty much free of any dialogue, but I really didn't notice. And the dog was "spot-on" like a real dog - and much funnier than an animated anthropomorphic dog would've been! (Disney could learn a lesson here.)

It's on my list to see. Wish I had caught it on the big screen! Might get a little French culture here!
