Yes! Yes!
Forbidden Planet: Includes a feature-length documentary and an all-new transfer remastered in high definition.
Forbidden Planet along with some high definition Kubrick goodness. It's also nice to see that the full cut of Eyes Wide Shut will finally be available in the States. Today is a day to truly rejoice!

Thanks, Doc!! Some great stuff coming out. By the way, did you notice this:
The Forbidden Hollywood Collection: Includes Baby Face, Red Headed Woman and Waterloo Bridge; includes a feature-length TCM documentary.
Baby Face is unbelievable! Barbara Stanwick sleeps her way to the top. Literally. Truly a film ahead of its time.

Nice!
Am pretty excited about Brando's "Mutiny on the Bounty" and a Richard Donner cut of "Superman 2" finally coming to DVD as well.

They did actually. I almost bought it the other day. But the old edition didn't have the documentary and obviously the new high-definition transfer. Good thing I held off.

Nice! a Richard Donner cut of "Superman 2" finally coming to DVD as well. I can wait for this as well. The Richard Lester version is good , I just don't think his sense of humor fits the this style of movie(Superman 3 his baby alone and it stunk).

Also, what is the difference between, like, digital transfers and these new almighty "high definition" transfers. High-Definition transfers essentially means remastering the movie for better picture quality. This Hi-Def remastered version of the movie is then downconverted to Standard-Definition resolution for release on regular DVDs. (However, now that Hi-Def discs - Blu-ray and HD-DVD - are coming out, a Hi-Def release on these formats can be made too.)
