IMDB link here.Stars: David Spade, Rob Schneider, Tim Meadows, Norm MacDonald and Jon Header. Directed by Dennis Dugan (Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, Problem Child.) Co-written by Nick Swardson (Malibu's Most Wanted) One question: WHY!?If any movie screams bad even before it's released, it's this one.

The previews heavily feature Jon Heder and John Lovitz. That's good marketing, because I think both of those guys are hilarious. There is little to no focus on Spade or Schneider. That's great marketing.

There is a movie called Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector. The trailer of that movie makes the Benchwarmers look like Citizen kane.

OK if I read the plot right it's three guys playing baseball against Little Leaguers? That is so messed up. Odds are it's going to be 300 crude/unfunny jokes and 28 kicks in the crotch type movie. Maybe somehow all the film will be desroyed before it's released.

I don't know...
Seriously, the presence of Heder, Lovitz, and all of the ESPN guys makes me feel like this one might become a "guilty pleasure" film for me.
However, I reserve the right to pretend I never posted this after I see it.

Norm McDonald = Funny Jon Heder = Funny (Although I've only seen him in N.D.) David Spade = Has his rare moments where he's made me laugh, but nothing special. Tim Meadows = Never been a fan. Rob Schneider = Satan in the flesh. If I see him "starring" in anything I instantly know I'll never give it the time of day. Makes Adam Sandler look like Richard Pryor. I apologize for using Mr. Pryor's good name in the same paragraph with those two hacks, but I was trying to prove a point. I LOATHE Rob Schneider. I also have proof that he is a complete asshole in real life which adds to my contempt for that douchebag. I will not be seeing this waste of celluloid.

You know what this movie is? This is what is going to kill Jon Heder's career. All the kids in their Vote For Pedro t-shirts are gonna go see it and then never wear their Vote For Pedro shirts again. The End.

I actually would watch the Larry the Cable Guy movie before watching this one.
I love the occasional "check your brain at the door" movie and Larry the Cable Guy's movie looks like just that....if only because the premise is SOOOOO out there.

I love the occasional "check your brain at the door" movie and Larry the Cable Guy's movie looks like just that....if only because the premise is SOOOOO out there. Benchwarmers to me looks more out there. This movie looks like pure garbage. The joke in the comercial is so bad and not funny it embarrasing to human kind. In rotten tomatoes it has 4% or 1 positive review out of 23. I just hate that atittude about it being risky and crazy and that what people don't find it funny compared to the total lack of quality of the comedy. But then Larry is the guy who called David Cross too PC. Idiot.

Jon Heder's career was killed after he did Napoleon Dynamite. I think the same thing will happen to him that happened to Paul Rubbins if it hasn't already. Judging from the trailers and seeing him in that Reese Witherspoon movie as well as on saturday night live, he can only play one role. Same with Keanu Reeves, one role.

Oh, silly me. I forgot the worst part of it all...
One of the executive producers is ADAM SANDLER!!
Other exec prod. are Barry Bernardi (The Master of Disguise, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo;) and Jack Giarraputo (The Waterboy, Little Nicky;)

well I saw both the Benchwarmers and the Larry the Cable guy movie and I enjoyed the Benchwarmers a good bit more, granted it was 90 minutes of fart jokes vs 90 mins of balls and bats to the heads/groin/etc neither would be considered a masterpiece
but anyways Jon Lovitz stole the show in the Benchwarmers to me, him and Heder were easily the best of the bunch there
