Just saw the preview this evening. I love all the games. In fact, I'm working on the 4th one right now. Looks like it could keep the faith of the games and bring a good horror flick to the screen.
Thoughts?

I think it could be great. This could be the best adaptation of a video-game ever...until the Halo movie comes out.

I'm just glad that Uwe Boll isn't involved...

OK I will see this later this afternoon...with a free pass (the last time I went there the picture was out of focus and they gave everyone free tickets). We'll see if it's good or stupid, but it's free anyway.

I still haven't finished the game I have, Silent Hill II. I just can't seem to get the controls down. I was too used to Grand Theft Auto, I guess.

The UC Santa Cruz student paper has a review of Silent Hill, and it's not good. The mention of the audience's reaction as the end credits began to roll gave me a laugh.

Interesting review, I know nothing of the game, but when I went to see Slither with some friends everybody was pumped after watching the Silent Hill preview...I'd rather see Thank You For Smoking, is there a thread about that?

One other thing I recall is that it had absolutely the worst[/i] voice dubbing I've seen in any major release I can remember. At times, it was almost like it was originally filmed in Japanese, like a Godzilla movie or something. No idea why.

Well I saw this and it was ok. Storyline was interesting (I never played the games). Only thing that really put me off was the little kid screaming. It didn't happen often, but when it did it was piercing. Plus her mother yelled a lot - that was annoying also. One question regarding the end of the movie though (highlight to read)...
That fog that mother/child were in and the way they were in the same house as her husband, only not - what the hell did that mean? Is it just that they were dead?
