I'm sure I've left out dozens of obvious questions, and the inclusion of Lore marks me as a TNG fan I'm sure, but are there any aliens or types of people that you'd enjoy as the adversaries in any future Star Trek movies?

Either Species 8472 or the TALAXIANS! YEAH! THEY'LL TAKE OVER THE ALPHA QUADRANT! SIDEBURNS WOULD BECOME MANDITORY!

Hmmm.....are we assuming the Starfleet characters (whoever they are) will be victorious in the end? Because I'd really love to see Lore beat the poopie out of Picard for letting Data die....

Because I'd really love to see Lore beat the poopie out of Picard for letting Data die.... Hmm....okay, I've got it. "Star Trek XI: Next Of Kin" Upon Data's death it is found that Data had already prepared himself for this culmination of humanity: ceasing to exist. A will is found. Labelling his "Next Of Kin" as the recipient to some of his belongings requires the reactivation of Lore, who quickly begins struggling with B4 for the right to be the one in charge of Dr. Soong's legacy! I read too much fanfiction, I know. You know who I should have included? Tholians. Tholians were an underused alien.

Evil Clint Howard.
Just kidding, the only time I've ever seen Species 8472 was in the Elite Force game. I thought they were pretty cool, but I don't know enough about them to know if they could sustain a movie. Lore might be pretty cool, and the Dominion might be as well, but I haven't watched enough modern episodes to know much about them. So, ...I don't know? I guess I'll put in a vote for the Dominion.

That's an interesting list. I would like a Mirror Universe movie if it wasn't for the fact that DS9 had milked that concept for all it was worth. A Ferengi movie would be cool. "Star Trek: Aquisition". But I have to stick with 8472.
Oh and how can Lore be in a movie? Isn't he still a pile of scrap floating in space? Plus can you imagine B4 going against Lore?

No....at the end of "Descent" Data shot Lore and then later when Picard asked Data told him something like, "He's been dealt with." And since Data's survived everything from phasers to a pry bar through the stomach ("Thine Own Self") it makes sense that Lore could too. That could mean anything from Lore was sent to Starfleet to he was disassembled and put in the cave where Hugh and his group of Borg were hiding. It should have been Lore in Nemesis instead of B-arf. Data could have made one last (semi-successful) attempt at fixing him....giving him a conscience....then we'd have Lore to continue the "android trying to be human" thing.

I would like to see a TNG Q movie. I mean, the first season he's all, "You are being tested, noob humans." So, perhaps this was answered in an episode I can't recall right off, but what the hell? Is there going to be a final test or at least a final test for Picard?
Also, with regard to Data dying, doesn't that negate everything that happened in "All good things..." It could be that I'm just forgetting something but, WTF?!?!
<<All this forgetfulness. And I call myself a Star Trek fan...>>

Don't get me wrong WR, I love Data as a character, but I think that if they were going to kill off Data, they shouldn't have given any hope (aside from Lore) for any of the Soong-type androids to return. Brent Spiner can't play an android forever... I know Data's appearance is altered over time to 'make him more human.' But that's only going to go so far. Whenever I find myself wishing they hadn't killed Data, I remember how ridiculous Shatner's fight scene with Malcom McDowell was in 'Generations.' I wouldn't want something like that to happen again. What I didn't like about B-4 was that they gave some stupid hope that we'd get Data back, but it'll never be Data. They should've sent that moronic automoton in there with a nuke or something. I think that would've taken out Shinzon, his guards, and the big spooky doomsday particle generator. And then, we wouldn't have had to lose Data. Lore and the crystalline entity would be cool movie villians though. The Q would also be good plot points. I'm not sure how they'd work the Q in though, since they already had the Q civil war and the birth of a Q in Voyager. Personally, I think a species 8472-Dominion battle for the Alpha quadrant would be really really cool to watch.

Is there going to be a final test or at least a final test for Picard? Actually, I think they kinda resolved that in TNG's last episode, "All Good Things..." Q and/or the Q Continuum set up a big disaster of Galactic proportions just to see if it could get Picard to start thinking outside the box. I mean, yeah, Q said that the testing will never technically end, but for all intents and purposes I think that Q is willing to accept humanity as an up and coming player in the universal stage.

I agree with that. In fact, hindsight being 20/20, I now believe that Data should have died at the end of First Contact. However, with some good stories and some re-working of his make-up I think Spiner could have gone on playing Data. Westmore has bragged that they used the same make-up on him for the movies that they did on the series. But TV make-up doesn't always work on the screen. They found out when filming ST:TMP that they had to shrink the points on Spock's ears otherwise he's look (quoting Nimoy) "like a jackrabbit". Between the make-up problems and all of the oddball lighting done for the films, Spiner looked much older on screen than he had to look.

In fact, hindsight being 20/20, I now believe that Data should have died at the end of First Contact. You know, much as I hated to see Data go at all, that would've been the best time. Didn't one of the TV shows deal with a Soong-type android that didn't know it was an android? It even had a type of "aging skin" or something, I think. That's a potential, albeit somewhat ridiculous, answer to Data's "aging problem."

Especially since he went sort of Silence of the Lambs/Buffalo Bill on us...with is skin suit made of body parts. Kind of hard to go back to thinking of him as the same benign character after that. Still trying to figure out why the writers thought that would fly. But then, I'm also still trying to figure out how that patch of skin on Data's arm could bleed when you need blood pressure for that (as they said in The Crawling Hand) "Inheritance"....the android of Data's "mother". But then, that's also the episode where she told Data that there were two androids that only lived a few hours and Lore who were made before him....period. No B-arf, thank god. And Logan was supposedly a fan of the series.... <insert barfing icon here>

Dr. Soong's in it, it's pretty darn touching, and it shows how much of a bastard Lore is. You know, the more I think on it, Lore getting really pissed off and trying to exact revenge would be a really cool movie. But they'd have to reassemble him... maybe an undiscovered changeling still on Earth after the Dominion War who wants to exact revenge or something... I dunno. That would probably suck. But Lore would be a really cool movie villian.

Tried to write one myself but a friend who has a book contract with Simon and Shuster says they'll never print anything like that. (He keeps telling me it's a good idea - that I should change the names and sell it that way. Just not sure what would motivate "The Android Formerly Known as Lore" without all the rest of it.)
