If you're like me and I know I am . . .
[sorry]
But it does fit. I imagine a number of you, like me, have a soft spot for the cheesy old sci-fi movies even w/o the Misty treatment. Living overseas, I can't wait for them to roll around on TCM and thus have been doing a fair amount of online purchasing. I thought I'd share a few sources and my experiences with them.
My most recent purchase was from:
www.trashpalace.com/
I got a couple of $15 original DVD-Rs from them, nice transfers, nicely packaged and with a few trailers thrown in. They also have lots of tailor-mades for $6 a pop. I was completely happy with the deal.
www.skaryguyvideo.com/main.htm
SkaryGuy has a lot of old TV shows, industrial films and such. I got the old Science Fiction Theater and Men Into Space series from them. Quality was good for such things. My only small complaint is that when I acknowledged receipt I mentioned that one disc had popped loose in shipment and was pretty badly scratched. Luckily it plays fine, as I never got a response. No BFD, but it would'a been nice . . .
By far the biggest listing I've found was at Robert's Hard to Find Videos:
www.robertsvideos.com/index.php3
You'll see though that they tend to be pricey, and they weren't that good to deal with. If they were the only source for a "must have" title I might do business with them again, but I'd look around first.
Two more that I've found have some nice listings, but I haven't contacted them yet. Anyone else had any experience with them?
