Speaking of casting, what about the rumor that "The Rock" will be playing Shazam? I think it's pretty goofy, I just don't picture Captain Marvel as Samoan. Saying that... While I'd rather not watch Keanu in anything. I was pleasantly surprised that I liked him in Constantine. He doesn't look like Sting or have a British accent, but I still got into the flick even though my inner self was hoping to rag on Reeves. I still think another actor would have been better, but I didn't loathe his performance is all I'm saying. So who knows, maybe a Rock can get away with playing a Captain

I actually like this rumor of the Rock as Captain Marvel. He's buff, he's not painful to watch, and I can totally see him pulling off the childlike innocence for the character.

I could totally see Duane as Cap'n Marvel. I'll be honest, I've liked a bunch of the movies he's been in. Hell, I even enjoyed the remake of 'Walking Tall,' and I tend to shy away from remakes. But yeah, Duane as the good Captain would be pretty good casting. He totally has the build for it. Does he have a receding hairline though? If not, they're going to have to make one for him . If they end up making a Shazam movie, I'll be first in line to see it. I always loved Captain Marvel, and was frustrated that I missed out on so much of what went on with him when I took my ten year break from comic books. It would be neat to see a Golden Age character get star treatment (other than Batman and Supes of course).

Looks like the Joker will be given some special treatment in Dark Knight, as four scenes will be shot in the high-quality IMAX format, whatever that means. Joker's introduction will be one of them. This article also contains two images from the movie, both showcasing what appears to be the Joker. (In the first one, look behind the guy with the clown mask.) Looking good. Also, it looks like we have a tentative timeframe for the Wolverine and Magneto prequels.

I've been thinking this over lately, and of course the odds of this actually being made are zero to none but, I think a Marvel Zombies movie would be pretty interesting....in a twisted, gory, disturbing funny kind of way. And if any movie guy under Marvel were going to work on it, it'd have to be Sam Raimi, the man behind Evil Dead and knows his way around the gory side of horror. And seeing as how there's a canonical Marvel Zombies VS Army Of Darkness, dare I say Ash'd get one last hurrah on the silver screen? In any case, there'd definitely be alot to work with, but admittedly not very appealling to the mainstream. Still, a fun idea I'd think.

I concur. I was thinking the same thing.
I just wish I could've caught the Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness series before it went out... now I have to wait for the TPB.
But yeah, it would be killer. The thing is that Galactus would have to be represented by a giant pink-and-purple man... and Hollywood doesn't really like that concept. The problem is, like you said, it would be lost on A LOT of people. Marvel Zombies is a gory, gory series. I think it would end up being rated NC-17... not that that matters, of course. I would love to see a guy running around missing half his head.

You and me both. Not to mention the chance to see Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man eat Kirsten Dunst. That would leave a whole lot of people speechless to be sure.

I still think that people would be a little tender about Peter eating Aunt May.
And, the problem with that, of course, is that different studios own the rights to different Marvel characters, and doing a Marvel Zombies movie would be awesome, but impossible to put together.
Personally, I think watching Bruce Banner eat stuff out of the hole in his own stomach would be funny as Hell.
And we could see the Zombie Stiltman cameo!

Oh great. Now Captain America is going to be wearing white gloves with giant, yellow shoes.

I used to watch Thundercats when I was a kid, but is it really comic book based? I always thought it was just an animated series.

I heard that it's actually going to be a CGI animated film, not live action. The live action thing is supposedly misinformation.

FYI: Wallyworld has a bunch of Superhero DVDs on sale, pared with classic comicbooks. I had everything already so I didn't bite.
The directors cut of Daredevil (much better than the theatrical cut IMHO) was on sale for $6 something. And there's a new extended version of F4 that was released on DVD.

Check it out guys! I know that Marvel's direct-to-video movies were disliked by some, but I gotta say , I'm pretty stoked.
