Speaking of the Tick, not exactly movie news, but Season 2 comes out just in time for my birthday. From the early details, it doesn't look like they've worked out their problems for the missing season 1 ep yet, so that saddens me. However we still have a season 3 release to cross our fingers for (and it only has 10 episodes, so it would be an ideal inclusion).

For my own egocentric pleasure: Here are my favorite super hero movies...
1) The Spider Man Franchise All 3 are awesome, simply the best of the best 2) Batman franchise Batman Begins is right up there with Spdy 2 as the best. Burtons first and the animated movies push this to #2, despite the Schumacher debacles. 3) X-Men franchise 1 was excellent, 2 was great and 3 has grown on me. 4) The Hulk Beautiful and under appreciated. A great film. 5) The Incredibles Another that has only gotten better with each viewing 6) The Phantom Beautiful cinematography, hearkins back to an an age of innocent times for comic readers. This hero even pre-dates Superman. 7) Unbreakable Unconventional look at the super hero mythology. M. Knights tighest, most mature bit of direction. 8) Mystery Men Fun and funny as all get out! 9) Daredevil Another under-rated gem. The directors cut suprases the theatrical cut. 10) Rocketeer Very much along the same lines as the Phantom
Others I liked: On the super hero fringe is Hellboy, Robo-Cop and Dark Man
Guilty pleasure: The ultra weird and campy Super Girl
Foreign Affairs: From Bollywood, it's Krrish
Never liked the Super Man stuff, but... The director cut of Supes #2 was pretty good.

What about The Shadow[/color]? I first saw that quite a while ago before I knew anything about Alec Baldwin, and I think that it tries to be something like Batman Begins, right down to the mystical Eastern training. There are a few moments where it seems like it could be cool and great fun, but it ultimately falls pretty flat. Alec Baldwin is pretty laughable, and I'm not sure if he's just totally miscast, or if it's just because he annoys the crap out of me now. The movie is oddly enjoyable though, in its own way.

I've blocked that horror from my memory At least you didn't ask, "What about Catwoman?"

It's only a horror if you accept it on its own terms as a wannabe good film.
I also wanted to mention that I really liked Unbreakable also. Kind of the odd one out among M. Knight's works, and I think it holds up better on repeated viewings because of this.

Even not on it's own terms, I'd rather drink Rosie O'Donells bathwater than watch that again. EWWW - but uh, please, don't hold me to that. -MJ ralphs-

Alright, fine, it doesn't exist.
Of the standard superhero films, my top three are easily Batman Begins, X-men 2, and Spiderman 2. All three of them (especially Batman) are incredible and kick so much ass. To me, they represent the best of what I like about this type of film, which overall, I would have to say I probably enjoy watching more than any other genre.

Alright, fine, it doesn't exist. Phew, thank you. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't wished it into the corn field. Now can you wipe Super Man IV from my memory too?

Not stupid in the least. The great Joss Whedon (Firefly) is making this one. Not sure of a release date or if they've started production yet

Oh, never mind. Went to check on its status, he's out as of April 24th. Don't know if another directors taking a run at it. But this sucks, the guys amazing and a natural for the Super Hero genre and can't seem to land one. (Batman, X-Men and Iron Man were all considered as projects)

Yeah, Whedon getting kicked off of Wonder Woman pissed me off. I think he would have made an awsome movie.
As for the Flash, they have a director, so I expect it getting made in a few years time. Unfortunatly the guy directing it also helmed the Pink Panther remake and Night at the Museum, so god help us all...
BTW MJ, Finally someone else appreciates the hillarity of Mystery Men. I'm not a Ben Stiller fan, but his supporting cast carry him to something tolorable.
"Lance Hunt is Captain Amazing." "Oh don't start that again! Lance Hunt wears glasses, Captain Amazing doesn't wear glasses!" "He takes them off and he transforms!" "That doesn't make any sense! He wouldn't be able to see!"

He told me to go see Museum, that it was hilarious. When I saw Levys name I about cried. And the crowd was digging it, laughing all the time. I didn't get it, it wasn't funny or enjoyable for me in the least. Stillers not my favorite comedic actor either, but he was great in MM. And I love William Macy (The Shovler) - he's good even if the movies bad.
