fishpicker and I were discussing the comic movie rundown last night. We're both of the opinion that if Venom got wiped at the end of Spiderman-3 (oops, spoiler), there went a potentially huge cash cow. I.E., stupid.
We were also trying to figure out potential story arcs for the discussed Wolverine and Magneto spin-offs. He brought up Quicksilver/Scarlet Witch, Weapon X, etc. I'd love an Apocalypse story but I don't see it happening. Any stories that you guys would love to see?

Nobody stays dead in comics Si, he'll be back if they want him.
I mentioned Ostrander's Specter but I'd also kill to see the Alan Moore Swamp Thing stories put on screen. They were beautiful, scary as shmit (introduced Constantine as well). But hell, the sheeple couldn't handle a mature, intelligent Hulk film, I doubt this work of art would go over well with the populace either. But I'd love to see it, it was a stunning storyline.
I'd also like to see the Elektra/Daredevil Frank Miller resurrection story done right. Marvel softened up the character and gave her a kind of super power(?) in the Elektra flick. Ruined it - The womans a cold bloodied assassin. Though I'm not a Taratino fan, you need someone who wouldn't shy from violence on this movie (as with Kill Bill). It would receive an R rating and Marvel will never, ever do it.

I would love to see Superman: Red Son adapted to film.
That and The Amazing Screw-On Head.

A movie based on Moore's run on Swamp Thing would be awesome, if done right. I seriously think this film could be very successful. I mean Swamp Thing is so damn loveable, and he's got a great supporting cast Abby, Constantine, Deadman, Phantom Stranger, etc. Oh and he's got great villains too, Floronic Man, The Monkey King, those under water vampires. Yeah... why haven't they made this into a movie yet?

I mean, Toyman kinda sucks in general. They did a good job of making him menacing in the Superman TV show... but I mean yeah, he's frickin' Toyman. I liked it in that one episode of Justice League when Wonder Woman almost killed Toyman. It would've been even funnier. The worst version of Toyman was the one on Super Friends. He had the most annoying voice in the world, even as a kid I wanted to kill him.

We're both of the opinion that if Venom got wiped at the end of Spiderman-3 (oops, spoiler), there went a potentially huge cash cow. I.E., stupid. As I said in the Spiderman 3 thread, I agree. I feel like the character was largely wasted, and that's just tragic, in my opinion. Still, there are rumors that Carnage will be appearing in the next Spiderman movie. Besides, I think it's reasonable to assume that some of the symbiote might've survived, or that Venom reproduced (symbiotes reproduce asexually) while he was on earth. Or else, they could just have more meteors gently touch down in New York parks. Reportedly, the Magneto spin-off is an origin story. It'll be about him as a kid in a Nazi concentration camp, and how he found his powers and met Xavier. I haven't heard much about Wolverine, but I wouldn't be surprised to see that as an origin story too. Brian Cox/Stryker is set to appear in it, so I assume it must be.

One word: Deadpool The 'Merc With The Mouth' getting the spotlight, or at least getting a part in the Wolverine movie or something would be awesome. Not sure who'd play him, but so long as they portrayed him the right way as the psychotic, gun slinging, 4th wall breaking, comedic, gun for hire we all know and love it could turn out pretty good.

I agree whole-heartedly with Random Citizen. Deadpool would be a hoot to see in film. Especially if they make him 4th wall-breaking...
I was just thinking how funny a GLA movie would be. The only problem is that Squirrel Girl's squirrels would all have to be CG.

I'm not that familiar with Deadpool, but I've been playing Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, and this guy entertains me. I'd totally watch a movie.
I'd like to see a Luke Cage movie, myself. I was also a supporter of a Black Widow movie, though right now it looks like it's not going to happen.

I don't know about Black Widow. In all the continuities I've read, she's just been the same damn character: someone who ultimately betrays her friends. I loved how Tony Stark deals with that in 'The Ultimates.'
Speaking of Ultimate Marvel, has anyone seen Ultimate Avengers II? I want to buy it, but I don't know if I should. The first one was cool and all, because it was partially faithful to the books. But I'm not sure about the second one... I mean, Wakanda?

I would have rather they used the new Avengers the team with Spider-man and Wolverine.

I loved the original Ultimate Avengers, but I only partially liked II. I think they really shouldn't have reused the same damn alien invasion plot and came up with something new. It was a decent watch, but the first film was much better.

Looks like we might see a Dark Knight teaser trailer amidst the previews before the new Harry Potter film. Also, there are apparently some strong rumors(?) that Dark Knight will NOT be a Joker origin story, although that probably could've been figured out from the ending to Begins. It also sounds like Cillian Murphy/Scarecrow could be returning. Man, it's good to find movies to be excited about.
