Anybody adding stingers to their rifftrax projects? "A Legend Films Production" If I end up making its own dvd, I know I will. Good idea. Yes, a really great idea... Please post what stingers you have used or would like to use on your RiffTrax DVD's?? Road House - I think this one is obvious...."Pain don't hurt" 5th Element - Rubby Rod: "So tell me my man, are you nervous in the service?" Corbin Dallas: "Not really"

Corbin Dallas: "Not really" I haven't watched Fifth Element in a while and have yet to see Road House. I moved and left several of my dvd's behind and am currently waiting for a package from my parents with those movies. Once I've watched them, I'll weigh in. Though I would say that that Fifth Element clip you mentioned is supposed to be funny, and it'd be better if there was something unintentionally funny or just sort of bizarrely out of place.

Just a quick question to those who've made their own custom DVD. When you're syncing up the audio file with the video file, do you find that it still drifts towards the half-way point/end even when it's perfectly alligned at the start? I seemed to be getting that with Fifth Element, as I'm trying to sync it up in Sony Vegas. What do you do? Split up the audio?
(Heh, I realize that this was kind of mentioned a long time ago, but I'm surprised that it's happening when the two files are stuck together, as opposed to when they're playing seperately. I guess I didn't understand the complaint until now.)

The thing that annoys me about the Disembaudio lines is when you can't see the lips move of whoever is talking. 5th Element is full of that. Also the Disembaudio line towards the begining with Dallas in the taxi, the line about "you have one more point on your license" who are you supposed to sync with? Bruce Willis or the Computer voice? --Ian

I had tonnes of sync problems with Plan 9, as I used a VHS version as my source and the drift was terrible.
I use Gold Wave for my audio mixing, so I would just trim a half second or more (depeding on what I needed) off the RiffTrax audio, to get disembaudio to sync.
The thing to remember is that if you delete 1 sec of rifftrax in the middle of it, then the rest of the audio from that point on is going to play 1 second sooner.
Also, once I got it all synced up, I went back (using disembaudio's time codes) and 'blanked' out all of disembaudio's lines. That way if disembaudio was off by a fraction of a second, you didn't have to hear it...and a fraction of a second doesn't affect Mikes riffing timing.

Okay, I figured I'd probably end up having to split it up, I was just hoping I was doing something wrong and wouldn't have to tweak it that much. And, yeah, I've been adjusting the audio levels throughout, as either Mike is too quiet at times or the movie gets too loud.

I think you have to go with Mike's suggestion about which release of the film you sync up to. I used one version of Roadhouse where the sync was off in the first 3 minutes. What was wrong was the version of the movie I had was subtlety edited. Sometimes they don't take out big chunks of the movie to make it come out right for TV broadcasting. They will snip scenes ever so slightly so you can't really tell where they have edited a scene. When I got ahold of my DVD copy of Roadhouse the Rifftrax synced perfectly. So, don't be too soon to blame yourself. The version you have may be the problem.

What would be the minimal system requirements for Rifftrax? My computer runs on Windows ME and uses dialup. I don't have a CD burner or an MP3 player. Do I have a chance in heck of being able to do this? From the way everyone's talking about this, I'd really like to get into it.
