It was so nice to hear Kevin riffing along with Mike again. I have to admit that Mike is good by himself, but having a second person makes the experience so much better.
Overall, I thought the riffing on Star Trek V was pretty good. Its weird to hear Kevin and/or Mike swear the odd time...it was nothing serious, but it was different. They definitely let the Enterprise crew "have it" and reminded us/them that they were getting too old and fat for another Star Trek movie; and it was only made to 'get another paycheck'.
Again, not alot of riffing during the credits. But I didn't feel let down because of it.
So here's what order I place the RiffTrax so far:
1)Road House - To me, this one is by far the funniest. I'm not sure it it was because of the type of movie being riffed or if it was because Mike wanted to do it for so long. But I found it to be very funny
2)Star Trek V - If Road House wasn't so damn funny, then this one would get first in my books, just because Kevin Helps out.
3)5th Element - Definitely worth watching with RiffTrax, but it wasn't great. I don't know if it was because I already owned this movie and liked it (maybe I was touchy when Mike riffed it...I dont know?), but the riffing wasn't top notch like Road House.
Anyway, feel free to post what you thought?
thanks...

I agree that Fifth Element was the weakest (I still think it's a great commentary). My personal opinion of that film had already transformed over the years from mild affection to profound hatred, so I was really looking forward to it. Mike was great as always, if a little bit "off". I think it would have been greatly improved if Kevin had joined him.
I also agree that Road House is the best so far, mostly because of Mike's passion for it. I've only listened to the first half of Trek, but it's wonderful so far. It's doesn't sound like MST3K reborn, but it does sound like two old buddies having a great time ripping apart a horrible movie.

"Spock"
Last night, I enjoyed Star Trek V more than, well more than anytime I watched it before. I am really excited about this project. All I can say is keep 'em coming.
One small criticism, after listing to Mike and Kevin, I kept waiting for Bill to chime in. It was sort of distracting.

I have Road House, Fifth Element and Final Frontier queued up in Netflix. I plan on having a rifftrax viewing party with a couple of buddies sometime this week. I can't wait!

I agree with Gammer's order of Rifftrax. Roadhouse killed! I have watched it about 6 or 7 times. I liked Star Trek V and while it was funny it wasn't as good as Roadhouse. Fifth Element was ok. The Disembaudio rants were annoying and not really funny to me. It just seemed like filler for parts of the movie where it really wasn't riffable. Regardless though I don't see myself ever passing up a Rifftrax. They will have my money every single time from now until they stop.

I have to say my favorite so far has been the StarTrek V riffing. It was so good to here Mike and Kevin going at a movie again. This really is the closest we are ever going to get to new MST3K episodes in our lifetime. I think one more, either Bill or Mary Jo would make the concept complete and would prevent me from watching any other movie without their commentary a greatly diminished experience.
Next would have to be The Fifth Element. I kinda like the film and Mikes commentary added a lot to my enjoyment of the film.
Unlike most of you, I really have a problem watching Roadhouse. It is a very violent movie and I have a great dislike for the all types of individuals portrayed in this movie. Roadhouse has to be one of the few movies where I didn't find a single character I could identify with even a smidgen. That said, I could tell this riff was a catharsis for Mike. I got the impression he really, really wanted to slam this movie for a long time and finally got the chance. His riffing here as a certain edge the others don't and it makes it great.

I downloaded the Star Trek V commentary on Friday and watched the movie. I had only seen the first half of Star Trek V on tv before. To tell you the truth, I thought the second half of the movie was kind of a bummer! But to the commentary- Mike & Kevin did a nice job (though the swearing did surprise me a little too). I wish Bill was there with them, but just having Mike & Kevin together doing their thing is cool. All the Shatner mountain climbing jokes were pretty funny. Now if they would only start doing more 'MST' style movies, I could go for something pre-80's.

Star Trek V was the funniest, followed by The Fifth Element, and Road House. They're all hilarious, though.

I've only bought Roadhouse so far and couldnt be more pleased. We laughed our butts off. A few times we had tears in our eyes from laughing so hard. Mike did a bang up job with that one.

Wonder if this will sync up with the laserdisc. I really don't feel like buying this one again.

Wonder if this will sync up with the laserdisc. I really don't feel like buying this one again. I cant see why not? Lots of people have been doing it with VHS versions with success.

Wonder if this will sync up with the laserdisc. I really don't feel like buying this one again. As long as the version of the movie isn't any different, it should be fine. As far as I know, there aren't any different edits of Star Trek V.

Based on how hard I laughed.
#1. Star Trek V That final half hour was one non stop laugh after another. It's the first time somethings made me laugh tht hard, that consistantly since the MST days.
#2. 5th Element. I like the movie too. But I don't get touchy about it being riffed on. Funny is funny, period. If Mike could make me laugh during the Seven Samurai I'd buy that too. I just don't get that sensitive about stuff like that.
#3. Roadhouse. I'm not saying it wasn't very, very funny. It is - but the other 2 were more constant, bigger guffaws.
I agree with Isaac, they are all great.
