fun in balloonland
review in 3 letters: w..t..F!??
unreal. funny as hell. i loved kevin's impersonation of the woman doing the "commentary" during the parade. mike's blair witch reference was gold. the whole thing was great.
i think the woman who did that godawful commentary sounded just like the woman who narrated the story of thumbelina in santa claus and the ice cream bunny. they sound an awful lot alike.

I need to revisit Fun in Balloon Land. It was so out there, I didn't pay much attention the first time, and was using it as background noise.
I recently downloaded the Dark Power and Wonder Women.
Kinda drifted in and out of the Dark Power (again, background noise), but Wonder Women was hilarious. The chase scene was so long, and the riffing during it was gold. Giggling just thinking about the chase.

I have been watching a lot of Rifftrax lately.. Watched two of their latest installments last week. Dark Power and Alien Outlaw are both roll on the floor hilarious and highly recommended. Kiss of the Tarantula is also very good. Spiders are not scary however, but I was cheering on the girl instead of the awful people in her town. Especially her creepy uncle. But last night after putting it off I finally decided to take the plunge and watch The Star Wars Holiday Special.. That was painful. Great Rifftrax. I would never get through it without them. When Mike quips about driving a masonry chisel into his knee cap that is pretty much how I felt. The riffing during the commercials was solid gold. Since I am 53 years young I could have seen the Star Wars Holiday Special when I was in high school. Thankfully I did not, or my whole adult life would have been ruined.

Friday night, we were having a Rifftrax night at a friend's house when I got the email that the Live Santa Claus Show was available online. So I ordered quickly from my phone and luckily my buddy has amazing internet service, so we watched that instead of what we had planned for the night.
First I must say, that my friends had never seen the MST version, nor have they seen MST3K in general, I introduced them to riffing via Rifftrax, CT, and ICWXP. That being said, the sheer horror on their faces as Santa Claus continued to get more and more bizarre. They just about lost it twice, once during the "Dancing Doll" scene with the reversible faced live dolls, and again when Santa wound up his mechanical reindeer.
I just sat back in enjoyed the madness on screen and in the living room.

The Hideous Sun Demon
Wow, this movie was really a whole lot of nothing. If I was kid in the 50s expecting a good monster movie I'd be choked. There was a whole lot of padding and once in awhile you'd see a guy in a monster mask with wet pants for some reason. Anyways, the riffing was pretty funny, but wow, what a nothing movie.

Over the weekend I revisted "Setting up a Room". This has to be the funniest short ever riffed by anyone! Just when you think it can't get any funnier, THE CAMERA MAN SNEEZES!!!!
Fun in Balloonland. I'm not that great at summarizing my feelings about what I've watched, which is why I don't do this very often, but I experienced that movie at 55 WTFs per hour.

jurassic park
this one is my #1 rifftrax. as much as i love mike with kevin and bill, this trax with al yankovic is just hilarious to me. i could say al is my favorite guest riffer, but that has to go to fred willard. there are just so many funny lines in JP. it never lags for me. i wish al would come back and do another one, maybe with kevin and bill along too.

Recently I watched...
Radical Jack
Yeah, it's quite a blatant rip off of Roadhouse and it stars Billy Ray Cyrus. Pretty good riffing as usual but oh man it was tough to sit through, with totally predictable formula plot and Billy Ray Cyrus. I thought this was one of the worst movies I'd seen in awhile, but then I watched.....
To Catch a Yeti
After watching this I felt I owed Billy Ray an apology. Cutesy kids movies are not my favorite riffing material and this one was harsh. Some good riffing, especially at Meatloaf's expense, but this film was obviously made to keep 5 year olds occupied for awhile, and it made my head hurt. That annoying Yeti creature made me long for the days of Trumpy. I don't think I could watch it again.

I've gotten out of the Rifftrax habit and am so far behind. But when I saw Janet and Cole had a new one, I had to check that out. They did Dreamscape, and they did it good. Very funny stuff from the duo.
And a few days ago they had a 15% sale, so I grabbed...
The Hideous Sun Demon which is a movie I'd long wanted to see riffed. This was pretty fun, especially down the stretch when the manhunt begins. Here you get yelling cops (inches from one another) and Susie and her mother of the year. Both were a hoot.
Julie and Jack, from the man who gave us Birdemic. It was okay, though the fans at the Rifftrax site seem to think it's brilliant. The movie was a laugh of course, but I mostly chuckled over the riffing.
I also picked up Warning from Space from Matthew J. Elliott and Ian Potter. I haven't watch it yet, but it's another flick I thought would be good for a riffing.

I have an old iRiff version from someone else that's worth a couple chuckles. I'll have to check this one out being a fan of Japanese cinema.

Warning From Space wound up a pretty funny trax all told. One of the duos better efforts.
