Crossroads One of the funniest ones Mike has done so far. Cripes he was on fire - Brit is a pretty easy target but still, he got me laughing my ass off. The bit when the gals look out the door at the guy with the Guitar and Mike has him singing about how he has to kill someone. ;D huge laughs. I always love a music related quip. Classic, among the best rifftrax out there. One of my favs for sure. I love it when Brit sings: "I'm not a girl, I'm not a woman..." And Mike sings back: "I'm more of a 'goman'"

The Fellowship of the Ring - Brother, this is a looooong movie. However Mike and Kevin make it worth deadening your ass for 3+ hours watching a lot of walking and pontificating. Loved their take on the Cave Troll! Ha! I had to run that one back twice! They do seem to get a little tired toward the end. After all this is the first 2-part riff and they had to be funny for a long time! I wonder how many cups of coffee and Dolly Madison cakes they had to consume? This movie/rifftrax also pushed my learning curve to get the whole thing synced up and on one DVD! Overall this one is just below Phantom Menace in my top 5 list. A tour-de-force performance if not in quality but sheer quantity!

Cocktail
Mike opens things up with the obligitory Scientology jokes and while they are all terribly obvious, they still got a chuckle from me. After that, things kind go up and down in this one. There are a decent number of zingers but a surprising number of riffs fall a little flat. I've seen three of the "mike only" rifftrax and this is the only one where I thought he could have used some help. Overall, it's not a dissapointment by any means but not really up to the level of the other ones I've watched.
6/10

Point Break
At best an average outing, which means it was worth the time spent. Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze stink up the place in this overlong bore-fest of a movie. Maybe too many Gary Busey drug jokes. More line than usual for Disembadio in this one. Probably not a good choice for the more casual Rifftrax fan.

Top Gun
I was really excited for this one. I had heard good things about it and it marked my first Rifftrax involving Mr.Corbett. Unfortunately, I spoiled some of the fun that this one could have been. It wasn't wise to watch this right after Cocktail. Bill opens up covering much of the same Scientology ground as Mike did in Cocktail, so that didn't help. Then they both covered a bunch of the same Cruise territory as well. Of course, the two of them do seem to be having a great time and when they are 'on' they are truly in the zone. All in all, it delivers more laughs than Cocktail but watching that one first clearly stole a chunk of Top Gun's thunder.
This one will need a few weeks to empty itself from the mental recycle bin and I'll give it a rewatch with a fresher perspective. For now, it's still a solid 7/10.

Crossroads
My first viewing of a Mike-only Rifftrax, and I was pretty darn happy with the experience. As a film choice, I liked the break from the usual action/sci fi genre. The riffing was pretty good, but the movie humiliates itself just as much. Good god, that's one terrible movie. In it's defense, and at the risk of sounding like a total creep, it does have Britney dancing around in her underwear on her bed.
All that being said, I'd like to see Mike revisit some more classic 80's garbage in the future. There's a ton of it out there, and Mike could probably write Rifftrax for them in his sleep.
Oh, and props to Netflix. If it weren't for their service, I never would have been able to view this movie and keep my dignity. Thank you, anonymity.

I agree with you on "Crossroads" and the idea of Mike doing some older stuff. I think anyone who avoids the "Mike only" rifftrax is really missing out on some great stuff.

Halloween is a great rifftrax. Mike and Bill do an excellent job and the movie is ripe for riffing. Highly recommended.

The Island of Doctor Moreau
I had forgotten what a completely goofy adaptation of this H.G.Wells classic this was! Even without the riffing Val Kilmer gives a completely 'wake and bake' performance that is amazing. Marlon Brando gives the single most eccentric performance of his entire life. I got the impression that the director was reading a magazine slamming Mai Tai after Mai Tai the entire time this movie was being filmed and just let somebody else, anybody else, direct this thing. Nobody seemed to care at all. Ron Pearlman was the only person who tried to give a credible performance, but, as usual, he was under six tons of makeup and its to his credit that he can act and rise above all that glorp they bury him under. Good riffing all around. Mike and Kevin deliver a good take on this movie riffing mainly on how in gods name the studio didn't see what was happening here and put on the breaks! They are especially incredulous about poor Marlin's mu-mu and ice bucket hat. So wrong on so many levels.

I actually quite liked Hyena-swine a lot, I thought he was Ron Pearlman until about the last scene with the Sayer of the Law on the dock. But the film is quite something else. Val Kilmer, well what can you say,...... words fail me.

I enjoyed The Matrix today. Despite a million interruptions, including missionaries at my front door, I managed to work my way through this Rifftrax. Mike and Kevin did a great job with a movie that I cannot comprehend. The references to Keanu Reeve's stupidity were great as were the multiple attempts to figure out exactly a "Matrix" is. Solid effort. It feels like the whole thing is becoming more comfortable to the riffers.
BTW, it took about 10 seconds to get rid of the missionaries.
