Troll 2.
It could have been called Hobgoblins 2. Although I smelled a distinct Pod People odor to it, as well.
I thought Lowtax did well for a rookie. And the movie deserved everything it got. In fact, I could have used even more hate towards the people responsible.
I really missed the host segments on this one, both because I imagine they could have been hilarious and also because I really needed a break from this horrible film about every 20 minutes.
Of all the Rifftrax so far, this one really could have passed for a MST episode. I loved it.

The one thing I find similar of BE and Troll 2 when compared to MST eps, is that I can watch them over and over without getting bored. So far I have watched BE and Troll 2 three times now. Thats something I could do only with good MST eps. Also, someone else pointed out that the riffs weren't about how bad the movie was. They were more about riffing on that moment in the movie.

Disembaudio really needed to shut up and just give me the synch points It intrigues me that people seem to frequently single out DAs lines. Is it because of the filter over his voice or what?

In my limited experience, it's been because he's just not funny. Basically, shut up and make with the riffing. The only banter I can tolerate is that of our Film Crew.

So when Mike writes those lines he suddenly switches off the funny then switches is back on when he writes for himself? Damn, that's being harsh to a character.

Common Sense? gammer! Your not one of those people who thinks the riffers write their own lines? It must be very amazingly lucky that they manage to write lines that are spaced out so nicely that the other guys can just slot their equally spaced out riffs between them. On the other hand it must be annoying when Kevin has finished his lines for Daredevil and is waiting for the others to catch up, spose he could then just get a head start on Battlefield Earth while he is waiting. ;D That is why I was poking at TOR in the 'worst' thread on Troll 2 when he pretty much said that every line by Lowtax sucked, to get him to say what about the lines sucked. As we know (but I suspect Tor didn't) Lowtax said about 20-25% of what he wrote made the final cut, so really Lowtax could have written only a small part of the final riffs used (really anywhere from 0 - 25%). Mike wrote the rest, so when people like Tor go, 'All of his lines sucked' attempting to disbarage Lowtax's writing, they are really isolating part of Mikes writing, attributing it to Lowtax and saying, 'that portion of mikes writing which lowtax reads, sucks'. Same situation when it's a solo riff like Point Break, you think he runs to J-Proof, 'Quick! Give me a DA response! I need something for this gap!' Besides, Mike isn't going to record anything he isn't happy with, he doesn't need to. I guess people think DA's sync lines are simply part of the standard recording session too? Ok yeah I'm stirring, it's just one of those things that makes me laugh. ;D

I don't have a problem with what DA says...its how he says it; its the delivery.
Personally I can't stand the voice they use for DA. But thats just my personal taste.
I bet if Crow or Tom said DA's lines, no-one would complain.

Did we ever get official confirmation it was J-Proof?

So, uh, bathtub, you some kind of newfangled expert on Rifftrax, eh, son? I don't give a damn who writes DA's lines, they're not funny. The banter is annoying and unnecessary. I'd rather have awkward silence. Even if it were Kevin or Bill, it would still be bothersome for me, but not nearly as much. At least I know those two, and hearing "old friends" screw around with Mike is a hell of a lot more enjoyable than hearing some random new guy try to screw around. It makes a difference, and I know I'm not the only one.

Basically, shut up and make with the riffing. The only banter I can tolerate is that of our Film Crew. For me, it has to do with him jumping in and making what sounds like a play for attention. His comments don't seem to be "in the moment" of the movie, but rather a reaction to or comment toward Mike. If that's Mike writing those lines, fine, but I don't like the schtick either way. And his voice modification and delivery doesn't help him any, either. Besides, he's supposed to be helping us synch the Rifftrax to the DVD. I find DA more often errs on the side of not synching enough lines than synching too often. Still, it's just an opinion. He doesn't kill a Rifftrax for me. I just prefer it when he sticks to business.

So, uh, bathtub, you some kind of newfangled expert on Rifftrax, eh, son? Well, slightly more than the average toaster. My point was that I find it quite interesting that people get the idea that DA's lines are written by someone else. Now disliking the delivery and filtering, that makes perfect sense.

You are the first I've heard of a person involved with a film listening to a rifftrax. Cool!

xXx
Like Cocktail the riffing was a bit too sparse and there were few laugh out loud moments. Still not bad though. Movie is also decently watchable if you ignore the acting, plot and the pathetic attempts to be Xtreme! to the max or whatever the kids on their skateboards are saying nowadays. Could've maybe have done with an extra riffer. Ah well X-men next for me and there is one!
6/10
