Think you got what it takes to write a Rifftrax? Here is your chance! Rifftrax is having a contest and the winner gets $500 and Mike will record your script. It is a five minute clip from the Matrix. Here is the link: www.rifftrax.com/Html/Contest_September.html

Awesome! If only I can get time to do this by the deadline.

As someone on the Rifftrax forum pointed out, it's like doing homework! It is kind of tough. 22 riffs for a 4 and a half minute clip. I am wondering if this contest is also some kind of talent search to form a writing team for Rifftrax. If they are going to crank out one a week and Mike is doing all the writing he could burn out fast.

Wow. This is the best idea ever. I'm stoked.
How are we supposed to send it in? Copy'n'pasted into an email or as a text-file attachment in an email? Anybody know?

So far the hard part I'm finding is trying to make it sound like Mike. Sure there are lots of comments I'm thinking I'd like to say, but as its pointed out somewhere in the instructions, they want you to write it with Mikes style in mind.

There is a whole package you download. It has the clip with a timecode and it has a RTF document that has a script template. You send back the RTF document. The package also has all the rules.

...they want you to write it with Mikes style in mind. I don't know that much about Wisconsin.

I'm stumped. The video just won't work for me. New flash player and everything.

I'm stumped. The video just won't work for me. New flash player and everything. What file are you trying to open? Make sure you unzip it to your hard drive before you try to play it. Once you unzip it you get a Riff-Off folder. Open the folder and there should be a html file in there. The name of which escapes me right now. double click that and see if it works. You shouldn't have to go into the assetts folder for anything.

Also, it might be fun if we're able to post them here after the deadline is over, unless that would break some rules I haven't mentally digested yet.
