They now are officially going too fast for me. I guess that's not a bad complaint but between my drunken nights, work during the day and the search for my own apt - I haven't had time to even give Point Break a shot.
Ah well, one day I'll get caught up.

I wondered if that would happen, because of the contest.

This is going pretty fast. I haven't even got Point Break in the mail yet and now they are two films ahead of me.
I hope they aren't cramming 2 years worth of material before taking a long break.

wished they could have done The Matrix Revolutions instead. Okay, let me just say that I thought that all three Matrix movies were great. I can't believe all the complaints on the Internet from viewers who thought that "the sequels sucked." Really? I liked the sequels. There's a nice storyline going along through all three films, and plenty of great action. Still, with Kevin on board, this is going to be a great RiffTrax. The winning riffs from the contest sound excellent as well.

I agree, but we sure are in a minority for some reason. I'm not sure why people have such intense hatred towards the sequels. It's not like they're Batman & Robin or something. I tend to think that the masses always want more of the same over and over again. M2&3 were quite a bit different than M1, and committed the sin of tearing down some of the "truths" revealed in the first film. Then again, I like Alien3 as well...

I think that they should've never made any of the sequels in the first place. What killed it for me was in the second one where Morpheus says something about freedom in Zion and then boom, orgy. That is what killed the film for me and then the Neo vs. 2000000000 Agent Smiths was like watching a video game. It seemd to me they just went to far out there with the plot and i didn't like it. But i can't wait for this Rifftrax

Yes. As much as I'd like to say something intelligent about the sequels, I can best describe them by saying that they were just retarded. They weren't nearly as cerebral as the first film. Everything just seemed more half-assed and tacked-on than in the first. The Matrix was a really fresh, interesting movie. The sequels were like watching direct-to-DVD attempts to cash in on the original's success. Granted, I don't mind watching the sequels. They're not horrendous, they just don't live up to the original.
Furthermore, what the hell is Hollywood's deal with sequels? Practically NOTHING gets made these days that doesn't end up getting some sort of sequel. Oi.

Furthermore, what the hell is Hollywood's deal with sequels? Practically NOTHING gets made these days that doesn't end up getting some sort of sequel. Oi. Its a safe bet that the fans of the original are going to buy a ticket to see what they did the second time around. Even if they walked out in the first five minutes and badmouthed it to all their friends, the fact that you bought a ticket to see it validated the movie. In this way sequels are a safer bet to make money than something risky. I shudder to think what would happen to a "Kubrick" nowdays.

Well, I understand the financial reasons for sequels. But why? For the love of God, WHY? It's often like piddling all over the original film.
