Hm. That was different.
I think I see now though why on MST3K it was a silhouette and not in color. The color aspect is very distracting to me. In theory, I like it, but I'm not too big on the model for mike there, or too big on Mike spinning around in the chair like that (if they do that, I don't want them to do it often).
I don't know what I think of this really. I'm pretty content with Rifftrax as it is, actually. I don't really care if you see them or not, though I'm not sure if I want to see Kevin or Bill like that on there because all I'd be able to see are those versions of them in my head...
So, I'm skeptical I guess, but curious to see how this pans out.

So the regular RiffTrax we've been used to all along will still be the same. This will be used for small clips and previews.

Yeah, like FredC, I'm not crazy about it. The figure for Mike was deeply disturbing to me for some reason, and I felt quite creeped out when he spun around in the chair to face the viewer. But as long as they keep it to small clips and previews, it's not going to bother me too much.

You know, I realize that this is a big deal for them, and it's certainly interesting and mildly entertaining in its own right, but - boy, this is a let-down. This doesn't really do much of anything, other than give us even more unnecessary Disembaudio and an even more misshapen Mike to look at. (I kid, Mike. I kid.) Still, we'll see. I'm not impressed now, but I'll reserve judgment until we get real content.
Was that the original Road House commentary, or new material? I don't own the Road House Rifftrax.

Guess I'm in the minority -I thought it was cute and enhanced my enjoyment. I really laughed at the "I know you" - "And I love you" riff.... I don't even remember that from the original. I'll have to go check it out and see if it was there.
But anyway, thought it was fun. I hope they store them somewhere on the site so I can revist them.

I really laughed at the "I know you" - "And I love you" riff. I adored that one. Totally busted a gut, as they say.

One of my favorite riffs. Road House is still the best RiffTrax I've heard so far. But I've only listened to 7 or 8 of them. And watching that clip again, I realized why Locke's father on LOST looked so familiar to me. I knew I associated him with something humorous, but his character on LOST is so creepy and menacing, I couldn't figure it out. Now I'll think of that riff whenever I see him on LOST.
