I just figure that Anakin was always a dangerously loose cannon. It wasn't so much that he was dumb, per se, but he was just pretty mentally/emotionally unbalanced and juvenile and he lacked almost any wisdom (other than what Obi-Wan put in his head) and, coupled with his ever-growing power, well... not good. I think it's ridiculous that they trained him, high midi-chlorbullsh*ttian count or not. In the end it kind of worked out, but was it really worth it? Meh. Qui-Gon was a frakking idiot.
Anyway, uh, yeah. Sorry.

Oooh...that was a good one...that's the best one I've seen since Battlefield Earth.
What ever convinced Lucas to cast the blank faced Hayden, I'll never know.

You know, Hayden is actually a pretty decent actor. But when faced with the soul-sucking void that is George Lucas, even decent actors get reduced to planks of retarded balsa wood. It's uncanny.

As far as Episode III I thought he did a decent job at being sullenly angry, but that's about it (and that's about all that was required besides gymnastic skills).

Oooh...that was a good one...that's the best one I've seen since Battlefield Earth. What ever convinced Lucas to cast the blank faced Hayden, I'll never know. He thought he had something of the young James Dean in him. I swear. It's on the second disk in the set! Not only that but Lucas all but admits his movies are simply exercises in Digital Film making and the story is secondary. You get a lot of insight on Lucus's mindset by watching the documentaries on the second disk. He really inhabits his own little world, sad to say. All these points are brought out in Mike and Kevin's rifftrax. A great effort. In my top five most definitely. Chad Vader didn't riff a whole hell of a lot and in my opinion never developed much as a fellow riffer. Just the odd joke every once in a (great) while. Not good. I the future, I hope they riff the entire series, if their minds can stand it. I wouldn't even mind if they riffed Empire.

I'm going to have to speak up for Hayden here. He is a decent actor. Wasn't this one of his first major roles in a feature film or something? As Hugh Beaumont pointed out, even good actors seem blank and void in the bloated Lucas travesty. Ewan McGregor was completely empty in Ep I, and he is a proven talent. Even Liam Neeson struggled to make any impact, although he gave it a game effort. Hayden was very good in Shattered Glass, and he was decent in Ep. III. I think it's a bit early in his career to write him off as a terrible actor.
That being said, I'm looking forward to viewing this Rifftrax. I thoroughly enjoyed the Ep. I Rifftrax (it was the first time I ever saw that movie).

Yes, considering that almost EVERY actor in the prequels comes across as flat and thoroughly, mind-numbingly dull, I think that the actors must be relieved of some of the responsibility. I mean, Samuel L. Jackson, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Liam Neeson, Christensen... I'm sorry, but you don't get terrible performances out of every single one of those actors in the same production without it being the director's or the writers' faults. It's just too unlikely.
