Well, I just watched the pilot eps last night without Rifftrax help.
It was pretty good and I'm curious to see where RiffTrax goes with this.

You all need to run (RUN!) right now to your local Mega-Lo-Mart and buy the season 1 DVDs. Not only will you get the Pilot episode for your Rifftrax pleasure, but you'll also get approximately 24 hours of unparalleled mystery/comedy/drama/sci-fi/mythology/serial entertainment. Best show on TV. Also, I love the idea of riffing TV shows. With the glut of TV shows on DVD today, there is so much rich potential here- especially with the really crappy shows. Who wouldn't want them to rip apart a Full House episode? Or maybe go back and make Friends, you know, funny. I agree with every word spoken (in convenient text form) here. I love love effin' LOVE LOST. Easily one of my top 5 shows of all time. Mike Riffing it will be, if nothing else... interesting. Oh yeah? I heard that the original quality and mystery aspect of the show had retreated more and more with each additional season and that the LOST that exsists now, is no longer the great show it once was. Didn't they also kill off a popular and major character too for no logocal reason (other then ratings)? Now I never saw an episode of Lost and I'm going to try to Net-flix the first season before I watch riff-trax. But tell me if I'm wrong about the sliding quality of the show?

Now I never saw an episode of Lost and I'm going to try to Net-flix the first season before I watch riff-trax. But tell me if I'm wrong about the sliding quality of the show? Nope. It's just as good in season 3 as it was in season 1. I think the "slippage" is because people are impatient. They want answers right away, so when an episode is just for fun or establishing a later reveal, fans get whiny that it didn't fit their theories. They kill off popular and major characters for a very logical reason: to mess with your head. In fact, the intention was to kill off the hero (Jack) in the pilot episode just to say to viewers, "no one is safe". Ultimately, it's a DVD show. Because it's a serial, it needs to be watched in quick succession. Waiting a week between episodes just adds to speculation* and loses some of the story's natural momentum. So don't talk yourself out of it. Take the plunge and be glad you did! *which usually ends in disappointment.

It should be available shortly (as in, this afternoon). Start your engines... or something.

I don't watch Network tv at all ( isn't satelite tv great?), and the only thing "Lost" related was a 'commercial' for it on The Soup www.youtube.com/watch?v=eP_WhzJXAWEI would be interested in seeing this Rifftrax.

I lucked out with this one. This is one of my sister's favorite series, and she's coming home next weekend for Easter Sunday with Season 1 in tow. Myself, I think I only made it through the pilot episode. Too melodramatic for me or something. I can't remember anymore.

I watched it and was disappointed.
They seemed to get stuck on Lord of the Rings and poop jokes.
I wonder if they struggle to write jokes for films/shows they actually like.

Wow. I read everyones reaction here and on the Rifftrax forum. Nobody seems that crazy about it. Maybe it's because I haven't heard any other recent rifftrax (only other three I've heard are Roadhouse, Cocktail, and Star Trek V) but I thought this was very funny. Also, unlike other folks (except for Grammar) I thought part two was funnier than part one. I thought all of the running gags were funny, including all of the Hurley fat jokes. Reminded me of Mitchell. And I loved all the riffing on Charlie and Sawyer. Favorite moments were Sawyer sitting on Fred Flinstone's 'Bronto Ribs' and Mike's comment at the end about 'everything being explained by the end of the episode.' Also, Kevin's comment when Charlie almost gets killed by the drink cart was classic. At first I didn't think that they would have much to riff on here, since I had seen the pilot. I was amazed at how much mileage they got out of it. I laughed throughout this and thought it was a masterful job.
If other recent rifftrax are so much better than this, then I guess I have a lot to look forward to.

I wonder if the people who liked LOST rifftrax, are folks who watch the show on a regular basis?
I get the feeling that those who didn't like it, don't watch LOST.

I'm a HUGE fan of LOST, so I imagine that had something to do with why I enjoyed it so much. On the other hand, I know Atari is also a big fan of the show and he apparently didn't care for it.....

Thank you ...that was what I was about to say. Atari is a huge Lost fan and he seemed kind of disappointed in it. I have to say all this talk about LOST has really got me intrigued. I want to watch both the Riffed and Unriffed version. But if I watch the riffed version first and it turns out to be as bad as some people are saying, will that ruin the un-riffed version for me? I also don't feel like waiting to see the real thing before it's riffed. Decesions ..decesions

Jackie, watch it first without the riffing.
That way you can see if you like the show regardless of whether you like the riffing.
I got the impression that Mike & Kevin like LOST, and that's why the riffing lacked an edge.
