We have had many of these on the MST forum, it's time we had one for Rifftrax.
This is a tough one for me, while the MST3K eps took on a distinct personality, plus I watched them a lot. 'trax have all kind of settled into a nice, smooth groove. I like 'em all about the same, with a only handful letting me down (Top Gun, XXX) and a handful breaking the laugh barrier. With that in mind here's my, very unscientific and open to frequent change, top 10
1. Nestor
It's a short, probably shouldn't count. But since it was sold separately I'll count it as a single ep and place it here. 20 minutes of pure, dark gold.
2. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
I watched what I considered the best eps one after the other and while it does slow down a hair when they enter the factory, this sequence still provides a lot of laughs (especially the Oompa Loompas) and the opening quips are dynamite. I watched it again last night and roared - I love the jokes directed at the poor (Cheer up Charlie? Yeah right) and how they'd take the lyrics in the songs literally.
3. Daredevil
In my reviews I ranked Trek VI ahead of this, but after repeat viewings this one is smoother, the riffing is steady throughout and the chemistry between the 3 is in full force.
4. Crossroads
Britney is such and easy target it would have been impossible for Mike to drop the ball. The movies illogical and stupid (The constant giggling at nothing, the absurd Karaoke contest)
5. Star Trek VI
As much as I liked Trek V, I laughed at this one even more. I love how they go against type with the Spock riffs and the Sulu stuff is always a joy. I'd take a whole 'trax of them just doing that voice.
6. Firewall
Get off my plane! Harrison Ford takes a beating and man is it hilarious.
7. Lost
The second half is funnier than the first, and the first half is damn funny.
8. Halloween
The opening sequence with Director John Carpenter arguing with someone named Debbie, had me in stitches. Silly riffing is so much fun and the referencing is a kick (Billy Corregan, Darth Vader). The Horror genre has been among my favorites they've riffed on (Troll 2 and the Grudge are two other winners in my book)
9. Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
The movies are so childish, ridiculous, uh, dumb. I delight in listening to Mike and Kev rip 'em a new one. Chad Vader adds some spice. This one slightly edges out the first.
10. Roadhouse
The first and still a classic. Mike was probably revving up to do this flick for years.
