I just discovered The Fox Movie Channel on my digital cable. Anyway, they're showing Independence Day today. I was hoping to Tivo it and then do the rifftrax. The films are commercial free. Several months ago I did the Roadhouse riff after tivoing it off of one of the encore movie channels and it worked fine.
However, I just saw an ad that stated the channel is showing the film with 'never before seen extended scenes.' If this is true, then I suppose I'm out of luck? Anybody know anything about this? Are the extended scenes on the DVD too? Are there two versions?

The DVD contains both versions, and they riffed the original theatrical version.

Yeah because the Extended DVD also contains the theatrical edition, so everyone has the theatrical.

Oh well. Figured it was too good to be true. I suppose I can take it off my Tivo. I don't plan on watching this film again unless I do the rifftrax. Thanks for the info guys.
