Yeah , I just pasted-in, from Amazon's "Track Your Package", where my copy of "The Giant of Marathon" is right now !
exciting , huh ?
Remind me to come back once I've watched it & am all primed to discuss .
Is this it for The Film Crew ? They were all made in 2005 and they're on to other things at the moment . . .
hmm

I have a feeling that this is the end of the Film Crew releases. I hope I'm wrong.

Why do you say that? Have you heard any rumors?
I think that Shout Factory wants to make more if there's money in it, and they seem to be selling well.
Right now on their Top 5 DVDs, GoM is #1, and WWoW and HAD are 3 and 4 respectively.

I think they are over because these were made in 2005 and there hasn't been any word of future releases. I recall gammer saying that Mike posted on the Rifftrax board that these were all there was going to be. I believe gammer said that the post was deleted a few hours later.

I don't think Shout Factory will give them up without a fight. These discs sold well for them, right?
If there was a possibility of more, then I think they'll at least look for a way to make it happen. While it's very possible that this is the end and RiffTrax is all we have left, I think it's too early to tell for sure.

:-[sadness But at least this "limited project" would go out in high style . . . "Giant of Marathon" is the best of the lot ! I'm just taking my own break as they've had their lunch-break , and it's had the highest ratio of LOL moments fer sure ! "ah , so they had Ren-Fests even before the Renaissance" "Jeovah's Witnesses . . who actually witnessed Jeovah !"

Well, if it is true that these are gonna be the only 4 DVDs despite the good sales, that would mean they probably knew all along (at least this whole year) that they would do only the 4 vids. If that is the case, and they had no intention of continuing the series, I'll be very disappointed in the way they suggested otherwise.

Well I'm going to put my order in. Shamefully there's been a postal strike here that lasted a few days. Fingers crossed the backlog of mail isn't too big. Hopefully as it'll be coming from the States it shouldn't be affected.

Mike et all really seem to have thrown their full effort into the Rifftrax site. I'm guessing they're much cheaper and easier to produce. The freedom to use a wide range of movies, even popular ones, is probably also going weigh in the favor of remaining focused on Rifftrax. Which, unfortunately, leads me to believe the Film Crew might be DOA.
Of course, I hope not. Film Crew is great IMO. Not quite MST3K but a quality substitute. Rifftrax leaves me cold on the other hand. Getting final world Film Crew is gone will be like getting MST3K cancelled all over again, so here's hoping the pessimists like me are wrong…

Even if the high sales do lead to more Film Crew DVDs, it's going to take probably another year or two to see them on the market.

That's assuming that we have all the information. Shout Factory says they're ready: (from my thread over there: www.shoutfactory.com/community/428/thread.aspx) And, as far as we know, Mike Kevin and Bill had more movies already picked out. As far as we know they're already working on more and just haven't made the announcement. You never know. I will admit, though, that they seem to be doing a lot of work over at RiffTrax. I haven't gotten into the RiffTrax, either. I have the one Star Trek ep, but haven't ever gotten around to queueing everything up and trying it. While on the other hand I have watched the first two File Crew eps and enjoyed both just about as much an an MST3K ep.

Mike et all really seem to have thrown their full effort into the Rifftrax site. I'm guessing they're much cheaper and easier to produce. plus, one aspect that they may well consider is "on camera vs. audio-only" The Film crew "set" were shot at least 2 years ago , and while these guys aren't exactly vain , they may be tired of watching their own aging continue & being beamed back at them. Graying & spreading , like all of us , they might pass on The Film Crew having a sudden 2 or 3 years jump forward. and they're busier all the time in the "timeless portrait" of Rifftrak.

I think with the Chad Vader video 'Reddening' might be a better term for Kevin.
