God, I'm behind on Rifftrax. This will give me an excuse to get back into the groove.

Forgive my ignorance, I'm not up on my Transformers movies... What version would this be? Is there not a couple different Transformer movies?

GREAT! I actually liked The Transformers but I can see Mike, Kevin and Bill using this to their advantage. Some films (Bourne Identity, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Lord of the Rings) I love too much to really appreciate riffing. But films I just like, on the other hand? Riff away!

Judging from the poster above, it's the new Michael Bay film that just came out this year. Yay! The crew finally take on Bay. I had a gut feeling they'd take on Transformers first, though I was hoping they'd tackle Armageddon because that one deserves it more than anything else he's ever done.

Yes! YES!
I had to suffer through this 2 hour movie for 15 minutes of robots fighting. It was not an enjoyable experience.

Yes, it's the Bay film. There's no way they'll ever bother to touch the original 1986 animated movie. (Which, by the way, is infinitely superior to Bay's only-just-okay testosterone explosion.)

They should though. The 80s flick would make a really awsome RiffTrax as well.

I'm sorry, it's kind of my Lord of the Rings... or something like that. I could never see it riffed. Too many childhood memories. I'd be focusing on the movie and wishing for the Crew to just shut up.

Just watched it, the new one, today. Oh the suffering. That was two and a quarter hours of pure suffering. I don't give a crap for so-called cool effects, and what do you have beside that in Transformers? You have hateable and underdeveloped characters with weak motivations, tedious plot linkages, cameos by annoying people, and about four different sub-plots leading to one unrelated climax. I really really hated it. My wife was screaming throughout the thing for all of the characters to die immediately.
Thank goodness for the breaks we took to watch the kittens playing.

Thank goodness for the breaks we took to watch the kittens playing. Watching Kittens >> Watching Michael Bay's robots. But I'm amazed you went back to the movie. As for myself, I'll pass on this Rifftrax. There's no way I'm watching this movie again.

Oh I'll be watching the RiffTrax. I'll be very disappointed if they don't let loose on this one. But yeah, it was awful if you ask me.

I have childhood memories as well, but that doesn't mean I can't aknowledge that it's one hell of a goofy assed movie, what with all the incoherant storylines leading up to action enhanced by a hard rock soundtrack. Dreaming of their riffing on the "Dare to be Stupid" scene alone makes my mouth water. I actually do prefer the original movie to Michael Bay's fun but extremely flawed escapist film, but if I had to pick one for Mike and the gang to take on, it would be the 80s movie.

Sorry, I'll have to disagree. I can't even imagine riffing it... I can't think of anything that would work. Honestly. It's just such a well-crafted piece of animation and... well, I've already made myself sound crazy enough. I know that, in reality, it's not a great movie, but to me it's brilliant and perfect and everything a Transformers movie should be. And the soundtrack? I own it and it's amazing. I'm not offended by the idea of them riffing it, I just can't imagine it or see it working well.
