I just got an email from the Rifftrax forum, promoting a Mike Nelson bobblehead. I might consider buying if it actually looked like him, but I don't think it does.

Yeah, I'm all for a Mike bobblehead - I'll even snatch up a Kevin Murphy - but... it doesn't actually look anything like him. At least Disembaudio is reasonably accurate.

I think the bobblehead idea is cool, but why do they never look like the person they are supposed to be?

OK, I bought one. It's not a great likeness, but what the heck. Could be worth a lot more some day. I got one of the autographed copies of Missile to the Moon, maybe I'll be lucky this time too.

Did anybody else, when they heard about this, flash back to the scene in "Death Rat" when the writer (not Pontius. The...can't remember his name...the guy who's basically a sinister Garreison Keillor) was worried about how large his head on the bobblehead of him looked?
I've gotta find that book and read it again. It's been too long.

I received mine last night. Actually the bobble head looks very much like our own Mike Nelson. The picture in the ad doesn't do it justice. It's a good solid peice of work too. the head doesn't bobble all that much, but It looks just fine staring down at me from the shelf above my computer.
Get one!

Mine showed up today too. It does look much more like Mike than I thought. It was even autographed by him on the bottom. Pretty cool.

Yeah, I can see your point, but think about it from this perspective; The Nelson's are good friends of ours, and if you had a good friend of yours that had a Bobble-Head made of them, could you not get it? And, more importantly, as everyone here knows I'm as much of a geek and fan as anyone. Damn straight I got one! RAD
