-it'll be my fist attempt to make a dvd with rifftrax integrated. Mine too. In fact, I'm just about to open up Adobe Premiere and do just that. I'm even going to go as far as ducking the movie audio during the riffs. It's gonna take some time, but this one's worth it.

It’s out? Sweet! Only half an hour till work is over! Then traffic, then I have to stop on the way home at the store, and I need to do a load of laundry, and the dishes. . .

I just watched it.
It was good. I laughed out loud in a few spots, especially as they riffed the commercials. ("Georgia O'Keefe was more subtle!").
But it wasn't great.
Maybe my expectations were too high, but the riffs didn't seem all that well-crafted. There were too many contemporary punch lines (Christina Aguilera? According to Jim?), and not nearly enough gems. There are dozens of directions to take a Harvey Korman riff, and they took none of them.
For something this classic, I guess I was hoping they'd take more time to hone the funny.
The again, they did have to sit through this crime against nature a few times to write the jokes, so I'm willing to give them some leniency.

I think it was immense fun.
Wasn't nearly as much a savaging as I was hoping for, but the banter and the way the three played off one another was a lot of fun and the most... "togther" these three of sounded yet.
Despit the abysmalness and extreme pain of THS, it sounds like Mike, Kevin and Bill had a lot of fun doing this.

I was hoping it would be another Christmas epic. Well I'll still watch it. Edit: well, I watched it. I agree, it wasn't the funniest overall. However, I think it's one of my favorites, considering the film itself and the general feeling. I loved the fact that they riffed the commercials and news bulletins as well. It gave a bit more of a feeling of "being there" than a general movie alone. The commercials were definitely the highlight here - I guess they're the new Shorts. Overall, the riffing could have been a bit stronger but there were quite a few laugh-out-loud moments to it, and it was probably worth half the price to hear Bill yell out "Santa's Death Armada!" at the beginning.

I thought it was a highly entertaining little audio track. I’m disappointed they didn’t use the “Fighting the Frizzies” copy though. This one was a bit more like MST3K and the Film Crew DVD with three voices through out the show. It’s funny to hear Bill make fun of C-3P0 since the robot he puppeted for three years was originally a vague parody of him. They did a ton of “this movie sucks” riffs, but boy did it deserve it. The special was definitely something else, and I was mislead as to exactly “starring” means in a Holiday TV special. Every scene in this special was a “what the hell?” kind of thing that it’s pointless to go through all of them that I thought of. It was sad seeing Harvey Korman and Art Carney doing such bad material. This was my first RiffTrax, and I enjoyed it, but it’s hard to not compare with MST. No host segments both make the movie more tedious (I couldn’t really pause without probably getting back out of synch) and rob them of possible humor that they can’t do with just riffing. Plus with only three guys there are again only so much knowledge of pop culture to pick from, thus those riffs are replaced by more “this is what’s wrong with the movie” and the lack of dialogue from the movie also hurt, since there was a ton of add ons they could do. They still made me laugh a ton, don’t get me wrong, probably four and a half star range, but this was classic material like Godzilla vs. Megalon or Space Mutiny. It was still a good experience and I look forward to my next RiffTrax purchase, whenever it may come.

See, the "no host segments" aspect is what I felt was so much improved by doing commercials. I paused a couple of times, but compared to some of the other long films they've done, this one was a bit easier to sit through.

Plus with only three guys there ... You realize that while they record it, they aren't the sole writers?

One thing after another kept me from watching this last night. I will watch it tonight and give my critique tomorrow.

Disembaudio? I didn't know anyone besides the human riffers wrote the script.

Sorry, just seemed like less based on when MST had six writers or ten writers. The quality goes up and down with the amount of writer's I noticed. (not to say I think it's of bad quality) Plus the amount of variety or quantity of pop culture riffs also is a good teller. Guess I was wrong.
