Got my tickets yesterday!
The only issue I have is that the Castro Theater is MUCH larger than Cobb's Comedy Club (where the last Rifftrax was held in SF). I wonder if they'll do anything to allow people to see our guys as well as the movie...

I wish they would do something in San Diego seeing as how Mike lives here and stuff. Oh well, cheers to those of you who can make it!

I wish they would do something in San Diego seeing as how Mike lives here and stuff. Oh well, cheers to those of you who can make it! That is not how it works. Generally Mike and CO. (and every band in the world) don't decide where to do a show. They say : "We can do a live show" Then an independent PROMOTER says: "I would like to put on a show" Then Mike's booking AGENT says: " They are available to do the shows on these dates.." PROMOTER: "Let's do it on this date.." AGENT: "Ok we can do that date and it is going to cost you this much.." PROMOTER: "Ok" AGENT: "Here is a contract, sign it and send me 20%" PROMOTER: "OK here is the 20% and I have one question about the hospitality rider... Mike, Kevin & Bill really won't perform if there are brown M&Ms in the dressing room?" AGENT: "YUP" PROMOTER:"OK no brown M&Ms...." AGENT: "Yeah no brown M&Ms. The last time brown M&Ms were left in the dressing room Mike went nuts and completely trashed the dressing room. If there was glass it was broken. Tables and chairs strewn about with all of the legs ripped off and made into a campfire in the bathroom and we are not really sure what he did to the deli tray." PROMOTER: "Got it! No brown M&Ms.." Then the promoter gets to do all the ticket selling and advertising and having the ulcers because he has to make enough to cover the talent's fees/needs (limos, hotels, plane tickets or whatever is in the contract) and he has to pay the venue for their services and a million things can go wrong at anytime. In some cases the show might not go on and you still are on the hook for the talent's fees. And when the show goes off and all the customers are having a blast and the best time of their life and maybe even getting lucky that night because of the show YOU the PROMOTER brought to town you don't even get thanked. Sure the talent will thank you because they got your money. But the fans? Nope. You will see the fans thanking the talent "Oh you were great! It is so awesome that you came to (INSERT CITY/TOWN/VILLAGE HERE). Hey Jerkass! If it wasn't for me and talking the talent down $300 bucks off the guarantee they wouldn't even be here now! Where is my thanks? Right now you are probably saying "Well I did buy a ticket! Isn't that thanks enough? PROMOTER: " Was the place so packed you could hardly move?" FAN: "No.." PROMOTER:" Did you bring at least 3-5 other people with you?" FAN: "No... PROMOTER: " Then thanks for nothing! Do you know how much it cost me to feed those guys tonight??? Do you know how much their bar tab is RIGHT NOW?! Ohhh you bought 1 ticket I should bow down and kiss your feet right now... Look at the big spender with his 1 ticket and 0 friends.. Oh.. wait a minute.. I made a miscalculation.. Your 1 (one) ticket just put me in the same tax bracket as Trump! Thank you. Thank you. 1 ticket buying no friend having concert-goer!!" ............................... Anyway, the bottom line to get a show, Rifftrax or otherwise to your town is to find a venue where that sort of thing would work. Talk to their booker see what they are looking for/willing to pay. Show them reviews of all the sold out shows. Show them articles about the talent. You have to convince them they can make money off it or that it would be worth their time. You could also hike up your pants and open your wallet and promote it yourself.

Sounds like you've done this before...
Anyways, mrtorso is right. The reason that we keep doing shows up in San Francisco is because the people at Sketchfest handle everything he mentioned. Booking a venue, selling tickets, getting the word about at the show, setting up all the technical stuff in the theater is a full time job, probably for more than one person. They do it really well and all we have to worry about is the riffing. So the answer to the question of "when will you do a live show in _____city" is "after an interested promoter from that city gets in touch with us."

Two of my obsessions TIKI and RIFFING are centered on the West Coast.
Why, then, am I living in Florida? Oh, I'm married. Forgot. Sorry.

I've pretty much accepted the fact that the only way I will ever see a live show is to save up enough $$ to fly from Ontario Canada to SF to see a show.

And its Plan 9?
I liked Mikes commentary on this, but to hear all 3 riffing on it would be sweet. I wouldn't mind having them do another release of this one.

Yeah I do hope they do get the chance to record the new commentary at some point and make it available. Something they skipped for Over the Top :S
