from http://www.riffrafftheater.com: Have you ever wanted to hear Mike, Kevin and Bill read your words, perform your jokes and obey your commands? Here’s your chance to write part of a RiffTrax of the unintentional comedy classic Batman & Robin, performed by the Grand Masters of Riffing themselves—Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy & Bill Corbett. Make no mistake – this is not a DIY or a Fan Riff but a FULL RiffTrax. Chris Hanel and James Whistler of RiffRaff Theater will be running the show. They're the point men, the big kahunas, Numero Unos, and the Men in Charge! So to submit materials please go to www.riffrafftheater.com. Follow the instructions there on how to write your script and where to send submissions. Chris and James will gather up the submissions, pick the best material, edit it all, and put together the final script that will be presented to RiffTrax for the recording. And get this—if your material is used you will get your very own copy of the RiffTrax Batman & Robin poster! By submitting your materials you agree to the terms of the RiffTrax Writer Agreement Terms & Conditions . These Terms & Conditions are also available at www.riffrafftheater.com. Good luck, and get riffing!

This is a neat idea. And I guess if this it what it takes to get them to Riff Batman & Robin, then so be it. Should be fun!

That's a great idea. However as much as I like riffing stuff, it was much harder than I expected to put together 20 or so quality riffs for that Matrix contest way back when.

As with anything in life, the Pro's always make it look easy.

Phew, 4 days work, 286 total riffs. Far bellow the average I know b ut I was all by my lonesome.
My bro want's to get in on this too, so were gonna watch it Monday, a quick run through and see if we can't add anything off the top of our heads and then I'll mail it off.
What an honor it would be to have one of my comedy heroes read one of my riffs. Crosses fingers, even if all they do is 1 it would be cool

I've been having a lot of fun with this. This movie is a banquet of riffable material! I agree with mj: even if they only pick one of my jokes it would be a major thrill.

What I find hard, is writing how I want the riffer to say something. Like if it should be done in a certain voice or with a certain accent...etc.
Much easier to do if you were sitting with the riffers, I'd think.

Like if it should be done in a certain voice or with a certain accent...etc. Much easier to do if you were sitting with the riffers, I'd think. For me, I'm just putting in parenthesis the "context" of the voice, if one is needed. For instance, when I'm putting in a line they should quote as some overly hick-y redneck voice, I just put "(In strong redneck voice)" or something along those lines before the joke. But yeah, I know what you mean - it still doesn't have quite the same effect as being there with them. Nonetheless, I have faith in their ability to elevate a line/joke to its optimum humor, even if it is someone else's creation.

I've watched this movie three times in the past week, but for some reason I can't bring myself to hate it. Yes, the dialogue is awful. Yes, the acting is terrible. Yes, the whole story doesn't make a bit of sense. And yet, I've been enjoying myself immensely. I love sitting there with my pen and notebook, trying to come up with jokes. I'm actually looking forward to watching this crapfest a fourth time!
Is it just the pleasure that comes from beating up on such a richly deserving target? Or is it something more sinister -- a kind of Movie Stockholm Syndrome, if you will?

I just went to the riffraff site to try to figure out how to submit stuff. I don't have excel so I can't do their template. They say to go to their FAQ page if you can't do the template thing. I did this but I'm still confused. Can we submit our riffs (the time codes, the descriptions and the riffs just like they say) in a regular email and send it to them? Or does it have to be one of these downloadable file thingies for which I am clueless how to do?
The reason I'm asking is that I can easily see myself spending four or five days trying to write riffs for this and then not being able to submit them. It wouldn't even make my 'top ten dumbest things I've ever done' list. It might be a contender for the top twenty though.

I don't have Excel either, so I asked them about this on the Rifftrax forum. One of the Riff Raff guys replied that the upload is for Excel only. If you want to send them a text file, email it to the address listed on their site. Text files can be sent in .txt, .rtf, or .doc format. I'm going to send mine as a Microsoft Word document.

Watching it this much and with such an observant eye, I've grown to loathe the film even more than I did before. The whole thing just made me mad... lt made me mean mad! (I think I turned into Bill Corbett's Crow at one point ) My bro never did help, but I polished it up, added a few more riffs (to 312 total) and mailed it off. Crossing fingers.

I sent in my script yesterday. I hope they got it. I didn't get an acknowledgement email or anything. Do they send you anything acknowledging they received it?
